  • FuelRod Swapping Will No Longer Be Free at Walt Disney Parks

FuelRod Swapping Will No Longer Be Free at Walt Disney Parks

Disney Parks introduced FuelRods back in several years ago as a reusable, portable charging system that allows you to charge your mobile device on the go, and then swap for a fresh one free of charge and now they will still be offering the service, but it will no longer be free.

FuelRods will still be charging at Disney Parks, but now they will be charging your pocket book as well as your phone. For $30, you can purchase a portable phone charging system at kiosks located throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Previously you could always recharge it yourself or swap it for a fully fueled unit for free, but now the swapping will cost you a fee.

With the simple swipe of a credit card you get a portable charging unit capable of delivering up to 8 hours of additional talk time on the average smart phone, or nearly 4 additional hours of usage on the most demanding of tablets.

“The FuelRod is the latest technology in portable charging technology with the highest energy density on the market,” according to their website.

According to signage on all FuelRod kiosks in the Magic Kingdom, Fuel Rod swaps will cost $3 starting on November 1st, 2019. Both Disney World and Disneyland will both be charging.

Disney Skyliner Gondolas Return to Service Transporting Guests

The Disney Skyliner gondola transportation system is returning to service today, according to the Walt Disney World website, more than a week after it was shut down due to a malfuction which left guests stranded in the air for hours.

Notifications on Walt Disney World’s official website and the My Disney Experience app indicate that the hours of operation Monday will be 8 a.m.-10:30 p.m.

Disney also says that on Wednesday, the line going to Hollywood Studios will be closed for “system updates,” and the other two lines will run from 1 -10:30 p.m. All lines are scheduled to run from 1-10:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

The Skyliner has been closed since the evening of Oct. 5, when the system stalled with hundreds of visitors aboard.

Disney has not disclosed the cause of disruption or commented about photos circulating on social media showing crumpled cabins at one of the system’s loading stations. The Skyliner had been open for seven days when it halted.

Disneyland’s New Spider-Man Ride Will Let You Sling Webs From Your Wrists

Disneyland’s upcoming Marvel-themed Land will feature a new Spider-Man ride that will let riders shoot virtual webs from their wrists as they battle an army of escaped spider-bots.

Avengers Campus will be the home of the new Spider-Man experience, housed in the Worldwide Engineering Brigade — aka, WEB — and will be the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature the webslinger.

Visitors to WEB will find themselves helping Spider-Man try and catch “spider-bots” that need to be web’ed-up. During the panel it was also explained that guests on the attraction will be able to shoot their own webs out of their wrists via immersive technology. Also, if you happen to spot Spider-Man walking around the Avengers Campus, he’ll be wearing an exclusive Spidey-suit.

Starting in 2020 at Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris, guests will find themselves inside a brand-new land featuring some iconic super heroes and even get to join in the fight themselves, too. The Avengers Campus will feature attractions, merchandise locations, a new eatery, and also heroic encounters in the ruins of a former Sanctum Sanctorum and you never know who might show up.

Walt Disney Imagineering and Marvel used New York Comic Con 2019 to reveal new details about the Marvel-themed Avengers Campus set to debut at Disney California Adventure.

  • BREAKING: Disney Skyliner Gondolas Indefinitely Shut Down After Accident

BREAKING: Disney Skyliner Gondolas Indefinitely Shut Down After Accident

Guests on Disney World’s new Skyliner gondolas were stranded for hours Saturday night after several gondolas became stuck in the air and today, Disney confirmed the gondolas will remain closed.

In a statement, Disney said that its new aerial cable car system would be closed indefinitely after it experienced “unexpected downtime” late Saturday night.

The transport system, which was created to move guests between Disney’s hotels and resorts to Hollywood Studios and Epcot, opened just a week ago.

“One of the three Disney Skyliner routes experienced an unexpected downtime Saturday evening,” Disney said in a release. “As a result, the Skyliner will be closed while we look into the details surrounding the downtime.”

A Disney spokeswoman said there were no injuries in the incident. Disney didn’t say in its release how guests who were stuck would be compensated, but said it was looking into how the incident “impacts their visit with us.”

Disney did not announce a timetable for the gondolas return to service.

The alternative, paper straws… And for those who aren’t fond of them, you’ll be excited to find out that Disney has released another reusable straw just in time for Halloween time.

The Sleepy Hallow “Pumpkin Straw” is reusable and can be found at several ice cream carts throughout Animal Kimgdom.

The straw has Ichabod Crane’s charred pumpkin head and is made of rubber. It has flashing lights inside the pumpkin head with three different settings and it will only set you back about $4.00.

Excited to finally get a bird’s eye view of Walt Disney World? Well, magic will soon be in the air at the Resort when the new Disney Skyliner transportation system opens to guests this Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019.

We were invited to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort yesterday for a special dedication moment for the complimentary new transportation system. The festivities featured Disney characters, fireworks and more in honor of this “most magical flight on Earth.”

Take a look at this video below to see some of the fun:

Disney Skyliner connects Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to four Disney resort hotels – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the forthcoming Disney’s Riviera Resort, a Disney Vacation Club resort set to open Dec. 16, 2019. The system serves as a magic carpet, floating guests through the air aboard approximately 300 gondolas, nearly half of which are wrapped in whimsical Disney scenes of beloved characters, fan-favorite movies, theme park attractions and more.

  • Outraged Fans Create Petition Asking Disney to Keep PhotoPass Photographers

Outraged Fans Create Petition Asking Disney to Keep PhotoPass Photographers

Disney World has replaced more PhotoPass Photographers with more automated cameras at character meet-and-greets across Disney Parks and now some upset guests have launched a petition on change.org that is quickly gaining attention.

According to the petition, the photogs capture “more than just a picture and add a touch that can’t be replaced.”

Many upset Disney fans have taken to the internet to voice their frustrations and even show the difference between photos taken with real PhotoPass Photographers and the new automated counterparts as you can see in the post below:

Disney made the move to automate cameras last fall at nine of their character greeting locations. There are currently over 60,000 signatures on the petition.

“Please help overturn this decision and keep our wonderful Disney Photographers. It’s so important we do not let the magic slide. Keep the magic alive Disney,” the petition continues.

These new automated cameras use AI software to capture candid and posed character photos, but are locked in a stationary position so the characters and character attendants are left to make sure everyone is in view of the camera.
