When Disney kicks off its Incredible Summer over Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27, guests will kick up their sandals to nonstop fun, immersed in favorite Disney films, entering the worlds of beloved characters and experiencing exciting new attractions and entertainment.

And, with the addition of a nighttime party at Typhoon Lagoon, this summer will be even more incredible.

Guests will interact with Mr. Incredible, Frozone and other characters from Disney•Pixar’s “The Incredibles” and upcoming “Incredibles 2.” And, for the first time ever, guests will get to see Edna Mode, the world’s greatest costume designer for the Supers. Tomorrowland gets decked out for this Supers celebration with Incredibles décor and the sounds of incredible music. High-energy fun builds to a “SUPER” dance party on the Rocket Tower Stage. “Incredibles 2” opens in theaters nationwide June 15.

There will be more Super Hero action at Epcot where Star-Lord and Gamora, from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies, take guests on a musical journey through the cosmos. The Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! concert series will feature hits from Star-Lord’s Awesome Mixtapes – fun and favorite tunes from the two movie soundtracks. There will be five show times daily, running June 9 through Aug. 19.

This summer, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating its 20th anniversary with two super new experiences:

    • UP! A Great Bird Adventure premieres April 22, Earth Day, coinciding with the start of the park’s 20th anniversary celebration. The show features Senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and his furry friend Dug, from the Disney•Pixar animated film “UP,” as they discover bird species from around the world.
    • Donald’s Dino-Bash!, which opens Memorial Day Weekend, is a “dino-tastic” celebration where Donald Duck takes over Dinoland U.S.A. The world’s most famous duck is celebrating his recent discovery that ducks are descendants of dinosaurs. He’s brought along feathered friends Scrooge McDuck and Launchpad McQuack, plus other Disney characters to meet guests. In addition to bringing his own decorating touch to the land, Donald puts on a nightly dance party where everyone can shake their tail feathers. The dance party is the newest addition to the lineup of after-dark entertainment that keeps the fun going past sundown at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

In addition to the fun new entertainment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can still thrill to the park’s newest land, Pandora – The World of AvatarThere they can experience Avatar Flight of Passage, which quickly became the top-rated attraction at Walt Disney World.

Celebrate the Season of Love and Friendship at Disney Springs

This February, take a fresh approach to celebrating Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day (Feb. 13) or any fun night out with friends by exploring what’s new at Disney Springs.

Recently recognized by The New York Times as one of the top places to go in 2018, Disney Springs is home to Central Florida’s hottest new restaurant and entertainment venues. It’s the place to set sail for romance aboard a stunning 40-foot Venetian water taxi or treat friends to a vintage amphicar ride. And it’s the destination for one-of-a-kind entertainment that ranges from a hyper-reality Star Wars experience and luxury bowling to an eclectic array of street performers and live entertainment.

Here are some memorable ways to surprise your Valentine, gal pals or best friends this month – or any other time of the year.

    From Romantic to Electrifying Dining

In honor of Valentine’s Day, a number of restaurants at Disney Springs are offering special menu items. The list includes surf-and-turf for two at STK Orlando, fresh catch selections at Paddlefish, a delectable special menu at Paradiso 37 and a specialty cocktail at Morimoto Asia.

Friends and lovers can also check out some brand-new Disney Springs restaurants. Guests can share plates of spaghetti and other tasty Italian dishes at the new Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante. Following the Disney Springs story line, this chic restaurant is set in a once-abandoned airline terminal from the 1930s. The open and airy dining room features 50-foot ceilings and views of Lake Buena Vista. For a more casual experience, head below ground to Enzo’s Hideaway – a speakeasy located in storied rum-runner tunnels – that serves up Prohibition-era cocktails and hearty Roman dishes.

Next door, The Edison dials up the excitement with electrifying entertainment, craft cocktails and contemporary American fare. At night, this “industrial Gothic”-themed space transforms into a nightlife hot spot with weekends featuring live bands, cabaret dancers and aerialists.

These are just some of the options at Disney Springs, which is home to more than 50 food and beverage locations including five by James Beard Award-winning chefs.

More to See and Do Together

Shared time together is arguably the best gift of all. At Disney Springs the options for sharing time with friends or that special someone are off the charts.

Venture to The VOID and embark on the new hyper-reality, multi-sensory experience, Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire. In groups of four, teams suit up and go undercover as Stormtroopers to capture imperial intelligence vital to the budding rebellion’s survival. The experience is untethered and unbelievable.

At The BOATHOUSE, couples can set sail on The Venezia, a breathtaking Italian water taxi, for a romantic guided tour of Disney Springs complete with chocolate-covered strawberries and a champagne toast. There are also vintage amphicar rides – rare vehicles that travel both on land and in the water.

Other favorite hotspots for a fun night out include Splitsville Luxury Lanes, a modern upscale bowling alley, and AMC Fork & Screen Dine-in Theatres. Or, simply stroll the promenade and catch some of live performers and entertainment – more than 25 acts nightly.

    Indulgent treats

Nothing says Valentine’s Day better than chocolate. Stop by The Ganachery and watch expert chocolatiers create richly exotic treats. Sample in store and take home an elegant, hand-packaged gift box for that special someone. Decadent hot-fudge sundaes – perfect for sharing – can be found at the world-famous Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop. There is also a gallery of goodies at Amorette’s Patisserie – a sophisticated pastry shop filled with Disney-inspired cakes, cookies, cheesecake, macarons and eclairs.

    Step beyond everyday gift giving

It’s easy to get creative with gift giving at Disney Springs. For the guy who likes a little pampering there’s The Art of Shaving. This handsome shop features high-end grooming products for the modern man. Guys can even get a haircut and shave onsite in The Barber Shop.

Ladies will enjoy the fairytale ambiance of Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories, the ultimate destination for Disney-themed baubles, handbags and fashion. For elegant fine jewelry and designer watches, Luxury of Time by Diamonds International offers a wide selection in their upscale boutique.

Credit Card Fraud Operation Broken Up On Disney World Property

A man suspected in a credit card fraud operation was arrested, while staying on Disney World property, by the Secret Service with the help of Walt Disney World security.

A credit card that had been used to check into a room at Art of Animation had been flagged after multiple transactions on the card were noticed by Disney security according to a report by WFTV. “Agents found around $5,000 in fraudulent purchases had been made on the one card.” the report says.

After checking in for a two-week stay, excessive purchases made on the card in the Disney Spring’s area were noticed by Disney Security and they went to the room to investigate.

The Disney security team went to the room in the “Cars” area of the resort, entering the room when no one answered, according to the Secret Service. Once inside the room they found numerous credit cards prompting them to call the Secret Service.

While investigators were still in the room, four men from Brazil showed up. Agents found a card encoder in the room and multiple credit cards inside luggage belonging to a guest named Fabio Valdarnini.

The guest was arrested and now investigators will try to track down where the men have been and if there are any other victims. Valdarnini is currently being held in the Orange County jail.

  • A Closer Look at Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland Park

A Closer Look at Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland Park

One of the things guests love most about Disney Parks is the way they immerse guests in a story, often down to the tiniest details. Thanks to Disney Parks Blog, today we take a closer look at details you might have missed in some of your favorite attractions or maybe even details you may have noticed and always wondered about! Let’s dig deeper with one of history’s most famous archaeologists at Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland park.

    Indiana Jones Adventure

From the moment you enter the queue, Indiana Jones Adventure transports you to the past with immersive details and interactive elements. Take a close look into Indy’s office and you’ll find 1930s copy of “Life” magazine featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on the cover.

    Indiana Jones Adventure

There are also nods to the famous films. The wall of Indy’s office is made of crates, one of which is labeled, “Deliver to Club Obi Wan.” This is a reference to the opening sequence of “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” – which takes place in Club Obi Wan, itself an homage another famous Lucasfilm character.

    Indiana Jones Adventure

There are also clues to the adventure ahead. Next to his desk, you will find a bulletin board posted with correspondence between Indy and Sallah as well as a large map of the entire temple drawn by Dr. Jones himself. Depicted here are traps, landmarks and even a guide to which gifts can be found behind each of the doorways inside the Chamber of Destiny.

    Indiana Jones Adventure

There are even hidden details to find once on board your troop transport. Past a menacing 45-foot-tall decaying skull of Mara and before a lunging 100-foot long King Cobra, you’ll see a skeleton wearing Mickey ears embroidered with the name “Bones.”

The Temple of the Forbidden Eye is full of many more immersive details. The next time you make your way through the temple passageways, keep an eye out for archaeological tools, traps and even try to decipher some of the Maraglyphics carved into the walls.

  • Disneyland Horses Kick Up Their Hooves During Main Street, U.S.A. Enhancements

Disneyland Horses Kick Up Their Hooves During Main Street, U.S.A. Enhancements

The horse-drawn streetcar track on Main Street, U.S.A., will be replaced in its entirety.  This will temporarily pause the operation of all Main Street, U.S.A. vehicles, giving the Disneyland horses a little break.

They will be “on vacation” while enhancements are made on Main Street, U.S.A. Can’t you just picture these equine beauties living it up poolside, wearing sunglasses and floppy hats, cooling their hooves in a wading pool and sipping refreshing beverages from very long straws.

Turns out, a vacation for a horse is very different than a vacation for people. Take a look at this Disney Parks video to see exactly how they are spending their vacation.

In the absence of regular shifts on Main Street, U.S.A., these four-legged cast members are following their usual routines in order to keep fit—both physically and mentally. Each horse has a schedule for grooming, bathing, driving, riding and ground work. However, they do have more time for play, which is an important part of being a horse. Horses, after all, are herd animals and it’s important for their well-being that they have time to be together.

One way in which this is accomplished is through “turn-outs,” which is the horsey term for “playdates.” The horses are turned out in an enclosed arena, in groups of three or four, and they run together, kick up their heels and just move as a herd. Inevitably, each horse will find that perfect spot of ground on which to roll over and stretch their back and legs. Total relaxation, equine style. Maybe our vacations aren’t so different after all.

Disneyland’s refurbished Main Street U.S.A. is expected to reopen in late winter.

  • Emily Blunt Is On Board For Disney’s Jungle Cruise Movie

Emily Blunt Is On Board For Disney’s Jungle Cruise Movie

Disney’s Jungle Cruise Movie is pulling in more stars to fill its cast.  Emily Blunt is reportedly set to co-star in the upcoming film next to Dwayne Johnson.

The film is a live-action adaptation of Disneyland’s iconic theme park ride. The ride takes guests on a guided tour through Africa’s Nile and Congo rivers to South America’s Amazon.

Blunt is becoming a Disney regular. Previously she starred in Disney’s Into the Woods and currently she is starring in Mary Poppins Returns, the follow-up film to the 1964 classic, Mary Poppins.

Johnson was extremely excited about the casting and took to his Instagram account to congratulate her.

Disney has had success with movies based on attractions with Pirates of the Caribbean as a prime example. Disney is hoping to add to that success rather than see it turn out like the Haunted Mansion movie or dare we mention The Country Bears.

Oscar nominee Michael Green wrote the most recent draft of the script. He rewrote a screenplay by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.

John Davis and John Fox will produce via Davis Entertainment, Beau Flynn will produce via his FlynnPictureCo. banner, and Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia are producing through Seven Bucks Productions.

The film is currently slated to go into production in May.

  • Logo for Disney World’s Club 33 Revealed

Logo for Disney World’s Club 33 Revealed

Walt Disney World is getting its own version of Club 33, Disneyland’s famously exclusive members-only posh hideaway and it appears the official logo has made its way to the internet.

Membership sales are expected to go on sale to the general public soon, but residents of Walt Disney World’s upscale community Golden Oak are already able to apply for membership for the Walt Disney World version of the secret club.

The cost of registration is $25,000 with annual dues of $15,000. The photo below posted on twitter shows another look at the new logo.

The original Club 33 was originally intended as a hideaway for Walt Disney to host elite park guests. The private club is hidden at the top of a staircase in New Orleans Square at Disneyland. When he was working with various corporate promoters for his attractions at the 1964–1965 New York World’s Fair, he noticed the various “VIP Lounges” provided as accommodation for the corporate elite. This gave him the idea that culminated in Club 33. When New Orleans Square was planned, this special area for corporate sponsors and VIPs was included.

While Club 33 was originally intended for exclusive use by Disneyland’s corporate sponsors and other industry VIPs, when it opened on June 15, 1967, six months after Disney’s death, individual memberships were also offered.

It’s not exactly clear what benefits members of the club will receive at Walt Disney World, but Disneyland members get quite a few. Club 33 members and their guests have exclusive access to resort experiences, which vary depending on type of membership. In addition to the clubs restaurant, access may also include Le Salon Nouveau, a jazz lounge within New Orleans Square, and 1901, a lounge in Disney California Adventure; neither are open to the public. Club 33 is the only location within Disneyland Park to offer alcoholic beverages.

Club 33 Members designate themselves and/or others to receive Premier Passports valid for Disneyland and Walt Disney World. In addition, their Club 33 membership card grants them access to early park admission, as long as they and up to three accompanying guests have an accompanying annual pass or valid day ticket. Members are entitled to complimentary valet parking at the Disneyland Resort Hotels and access to many private and exclusive events held within the Club 33 restaurant and Le Salon Nouveau, throughout the Disneyland Resort, and a select number of experiences in destinations outside of Disneyland.

For the price tag you can bet the exclusive membership at Walt Disney World will surely come with quite a few perks.

There are plans to put a Club 33 outpost in each of Disney World’s four Orlando theme parks, each with its own unique look. Including Disneyland the club has three locations already with similar sites in Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland.
