Disney’s Blizzard Beach Tickets are Now Available Water Park Sets to Reopen

As we previously reported, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, set to reopen on March 7, 2021 and today Disney World announced tickets are now on sale!

A one-day water park ticket costs $69 plus tax for adults and $63 plus tax for children age 3 through 9. Other ticket options are also available.

“Cast members are working hard to prepare Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park for its reopening on March 7, 2021,” Disney said. “Disney Water Parks fans are roughly one month, one week, one day and 22 hours away from once again leisurely floating along Cross Country Creek, speeding down Summit Plummet and indulging in their favorite meals at the Lottawatta Lodge.”

When the water park reopens, there will be plenty of health and safety protocols in place to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Reduced capacity, temperature screenings, physical distancing and face coverings will all be required.

Masks will be required for guests age 2 and up at the park entrance and exit, retail areas and food and beverage ordering areas, the Disney Parks site says. Face coverings will not be permitted while on water slides or in the water, and guests will also be able to remove their masks when eating or drinking while stationary and maintaining social distancing.

  • Disney World’s Blizzard Beach Water Park to Reopen Almost 1 Year After Closing

Disney World’s Blizzard Beach Water Park to Reopen Almost 1 Year After Closing

After nearly a yearlong closure, Walt Disney World’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will welcome visitors back on March 7, 2021, the park announced this week.

When Disney World reopened in July with reduced capacity, both its Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks remained closed.

The announcement was made on Disney’s website as you can see below:

“We will welcome back Guests and Cast Members to our water parks in a responsible way, with a plan focused on health and well-being. We will provide more details on our phased reopening plan, including a decision on the specific water park that will be reopening first, at a later time. This reopening date may change and if it does, we will let Guests know what to expect in a future update,” the statement read.

Current tickets that include a Park Hopper Plus option or the Water Park & Sport option can be modified, canceled or used with the amenities currently open at Disney World. Unused, unexpired water park tickets can be extended through Dec. 31, 2021 by calling customer service before March 7.

Disney will resume selling water park annual passes and one-day water park admission “at a later date.”

Blizzard Beach’s reopening also marks the park’s 25th anniversary — it first opened its doors on April 1, 1995.

Disney did not reveal any opening information about Typhoon Lagoon, its other water park which receives an annual 2 million visitors.

“We will continue to monitor the constantly changing environment and its impact on the state of Florida as we find the right time to welcome back even more of our Guests and Cast Members,” Disney said.

Walt Disney World also announced that four of its resort hotels will begin reopening around the same time. The All-Star Movies Resort is scheduled to reopen on March 22, with the Beach Club Resort, Wilderness Lodge and Polynesian Village Resort reopenings to follow.

Disney World Plans to Reopen One Water Park in March After Year-Long Covid-19 Closure

You may be able to make a splash in Disney World this coming spring break as the resort plans to reopen at least on of it’s water parks in March.

“While Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park remain closed at this time, pending government approvals, we currently plan to reopen one of the two Disney water parks on March 7, 2021,” reads a message posted to the Disney World website in an update on the “Know Before You Go” page.

Disney Park acknowledged, however, that this proposed reopening date may be subject to change amid an uncertain future.

“We will continue to monitor the constantly changing environment and its impact on the state of Florida as we find the right time to welcome back even more of our Guests and Cast Members,” officials said.

Disney World shut down in mid-March soon after the coronavirus outbreak was declared a global pandemic and reopened in July at reduced capacity and with enhanced health and safety protocol in the fight against COVID-19.

Disneyland in California remains closed until further notice, however Gov. Gavin Newsom suggested earlier this week that an announcement on the reopening of theme parks in the Golden State was imminent.

  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park Closes Due to Cold Weather

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park Closes Due to Cold Weather

The cold never bothered us anyway! Okay, so it actually does, because temperatures are low enough to temporarily close Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park.

Cold weather is sweeping through Florida and is expected to keep temperatures too low for guests to enjoy the water park.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach has been closed since Thursday and will remain closed through Monday according to the Walt Disney World website.

“For parts of Central Florida, it will be the coldest start of the season,” certified meteorologist Rusty McCranie said.

Typhoon Lagoon is already closed until March 16th for renovations, but the cold snap surely would have surely closed anyway.

All other Walt Disney World Theme Parks remain are open for business.
