    11 – Transportation

    Disney Transportation
For Disney World Resort guests and for park guests, Disney’s transportation is a freebie essential! Park hoping is made easy with the bus system. 10 – Celebration Buttons

    Celebration Buttons
You’ll see them throughout Disney World parks as people wear the bright buttons to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, first visits, and more! We still have people ask us how much they cost. They are FREE – just ask a Cast Member where you can snag one (usually Guest Services or a merchandise shop).

9 – Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

    Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
This is a fun activity for young and old alike! Disney provides each guests 5 free Sorcerer cards per admittance. Trek your way around Disney’s Magic Kingdom, defeating the evil Villains that are trying to take over! Each visit equals 5 new cards.

    8 – Soda Tasting

    7 – Jedi Training Academy

    Storm Trooper
We absolutely love that Disney World has included Jedi Training in park admission to Hollywood Studios. Your young Jedi (4 to 12-years-old) can fight against Darth Vader or Seventh Sister after some Jedi training practice.

    6 – Scavenger Hunts

    Remy Scavenger Hunt
Disney World knows how to keep us (and kids) entertained. Check out Kidcot at Epcot where children can color a Duffy souvenir and have it stamped at each of the 11 countries. Animal Kingdom’s Wilderness Explorers is another fun scavenger hunt throughout the park as you collect “badges” (stickers) in your Wilderness Explorer booklet.

    5 – Pin Trading

    Pin Trading
Purchase a few Disney trading pins online before arriving at Disney World to save some money, then begin trading at Disney for free! Anytime you see a Cast Member with a pin, they are happy to trade. It doesn’t matter what pins you trade for what. Before you know it, you’ll have so super awesome pins.

    4 – Pirate Contract

    Pirates of the Caribbean
Located just outside of Disney’s Magic Kingdom’s Pirates of the Caribbean, you may time it right to watch Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial. This fun stage show is great for all ages. Watch out as Cpt. Jack recruits your young ones to join his scurvy crew as he provides them with a rolled scroll stating they are now one of his!

    3 – Pixie Dust

    Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Visit one of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations at either Magic Kingdom or Disney Springs. Ask one of the Fairy Godmothers in Training if they will sprinkle you with pixie dust and they will for no cost! You can also get some sparkly dust from the Barber Shop on Main Street USA.

    2 – Driver’s License

    Sci Fi Dine In
Dine at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and have your young one sit in the driver’s seat location in your vehicle. A Cast Member may just provide him or her with a Sci-Fi Driver’s License! Transportation Cards are also available from bus driving Cast Members. We’ve caught on that these Transportation Cards aren’t available as often as they used to be.

    1 – Sundry Items

    Disney Soap
When staying at a Disney World Resort you’ll spot Disney’s shampoo, condition, soap, and shower gel available for purchase in the gift shop. Folks love it so much they purchase the full bottles. But, keep in mind that you can get free sundry items like this from Mousekeeping. Save your money and ask for a couple of extra bottles in your room for free!

  • Don’t Miss Out On These Disneyland Resort Treats

Don’t Miss Out On These Disneyland Resort Treats

Plenty of people come to Disneyland Resort just for the classic rides, the Main Street parades, or to snap selfies in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Serious fans, though, know to pace their activities around one vital feature: snack time.

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park have both launched a variety of only-in-Disneyland culinary experiences, many of which have developed their own cult followings. While some legendary Disneyland snacks are seasonal—like the hand-pulled candy canes, available in limited amounts during the holiday season—here are 10 snacks that you can enjoy year-round.

    Mickey Beignets
The New Orleans Square area of Disneyland offers two options for the Crescent City-inspired, mouse-shaped pastries. If you want to sit down for your snack, go to Cafe Orleans, where your order includes vanilla crème anglaise and fruit-coulis dipping sauces. Fans also rave about the non-mouse-shaped beignets in Downtown Disney at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen.
For more portable versions, go to the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square, where an order of three comes in a paper bag and is dusted with plenty of powdered sugar. (Note: Those lime-and-mint beverages in question are non-alcoholic.) With the return of the Fantasmic evening pyrotechnics show in Frontierland, the Mint Julep Bar is now also serving purple-sprinkles-covered Blackberry Beignets.

    Dole Whip
Dole WhipThis non-dairy frozen treat debuted at Disneyland in 1976, created exclusively for Adventureland by the folks at Dole Pineapple. It has developed a passionate cult following—it has been called “a work of art” and has a podcast named after it—and is now offered at other Disney parks, as well as a few other scattered locations. The original, though, is at the Tiki Juice Bar stand outside the Enchanted Tiki Room. Order yours as a soft-serve, a float with pineapple juice, or be a rebel and ask for the lone pineapple spear. A pleasant surprise: the classic Dole Whip soft serve has only about 100 calories.

    Matterhorn Macaroons
These mountain-shaped coconut treats—covered with white-chocolate icing and sugary “snow”—are a rarity among Disney-themed goodies in that they’re based not on a character, but an actual ride. The classic Matterhorn coaster is even within view of the macaroons’ Main Street home, the Mary Poppins-themed Jolly Holiday Bakery Café (look for the telltale weather vane on top).

For anyone who gets confused about the difference between chewy macaroons and the airy sandwich-cookie macaron, try one of the bakery’s Raspberry Rose Mickey Macarons to settle the matter for good. A bonus: The Jolly Holiday has been applauded for having the best coffee in the parks.

    Premium Mickey Ice-Cream Bars
    Mickeys Premium Ice Cream Bars
The much-beloved Mickey bars, found at kiosks around the two parks, are like the little black dresses of frozen treats: Mickey-shaped vanilla ice cream dipped in Nestlé chocolate. To broaden your horizons, try the Premium Ice Cream Sandwich version, whose wafers get raves for having a little more crispiness than typical ice-cream sandwiches, and whose ice-cream center is comprised of cookies ‘n’ cream.

    Little Red Wagon Corn Dogs
While corn dogs may seem like basic fare at theme parks, Disney superfans and foodies alike swear by the Disneyland version, found at an old-school-style food truck, the Little Red Wagon, near the Plaza Inn on Main Street. The secret: These chicken-and-beef dogs are hand-dipped in a house batter, helping them achieve that crunchy-on-the-outside, sweet-on-the-inside perfection. You can also get the same dogs at the Stagedoor Café, in Frontierland, and Award Wieners in California Adventure’s Hollywood Land.

    Turkey Legs
Turkey LEgThe jumbo drumsticks offered at hot-food carts around the two parks—like Edelweiss Snacks in Fantasyland and the hot-foods cart in Hollywood Land—have inspired so much awe that an urban legend once floated around that they actually came from ostriches (they don’t). Granted, the hickory-smoked legs look large, even for a turkey (they come from male Toms) and the salt curing gives them an almost ham-like flavor. To be sure, they are a commitment: Each one weighs 1.5 pounds.

    Themed Churros
ChurrosThere are more than a dozen churro carts dotting the parks—from outside The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland to A Bug’s Land in California Adventure—and the fried-dough treats have even inspired their own souvenir shirts over the years. Keep an eye out for limited-release variations, like golden-sugar-dusted churros in honor of Pirates of the Caribbean, or the Jedi-worthy, red- and blue-sugared “light-saber” churros in Tomorrowland.

    Candy Apples

    Candy Apples

They’re almost too pretty to eat. Disneyland Resort’s caramel apples offer a canvas for edible artistry, like the Mickey and Minnie apples at Trolley Treats in California Adventure, Winnie the Pooh apples in Disneyland’s Pooh Corner, or the Gourmet Apple of the Month (like a dark chocolate raspberry apple) at the Candy Palace & Candy Kitchen on Main Street (watch staffers making the apples through the confectionary’s window).

    Ghirardelli Sundaes

GhirardelliIn its cultural and culinary rendering of the Golden State, Disney California Adventure Park has embraced one key representative of San Francisco: Ghirardelli Chocolate. The Disney branch of the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop, located in the Pacific Wharf section, offers up scoops and chocolate-doused sundaes, as well as the clearly-meant-for-sharing Earthquake, with eight scoops of ice cream, eight toppings, bananas, whipped cream, and more. Don’t miss the mural of San Francisco in the shop, which reacts to your order: Buildings shake when you order an Earthquake, and a prospector pans for gold if you get the hot-fudge-and-peanut-butter Gold Rush.

    Cozy Cones
Cozy ConeIn the Cars Land area of California Adventure, “refueling” takes on new meaning at the Cozy Cone Motel, a snack stand with five different cone-based treat options, from the chili-filled Chili Cone Queso to breakfast scrambles. Reviewers have especially loved the stand’s Chicken Verde Cone and the Red’s Apple Freeze, a slushy made with apple juice, passion fruit, toasted marshmallow syrup, and mango foam.

There is nothing in this world like Disney Treats!  So make sure while visiting Disneyland you take the time to treat yourself to the most magical treats in the parks.

  • VIDEO: Disney Introduces Its First ‘Boy Princess’ | Disney XD

VIDEO: Disney Introduces Its First ‘Boy Princess’ | Disney XD

Albeit briefly and with little fanfare, Disney recently unveiled its first “boy princess.” In an episode of Disney XD’s hit animated series Star vs. the Forces of Evil, a young male character named Marco disguises himself as Princess Turdina to infiltrate St. Olga’s Reform School for Wayward Princesses. After Marco empowers his princess pals, the headmistress, Ms. Heinous, clocks his chest hair and tries to expose what she calls his “dark secret.”

See Princess Turdina’s brief reign below.

“That doesn’t prove anything,” says one princess in the crowd. “Princesses can be hairy!”

But Marco removes his dress and wig, admitting, “I lied to you. I am a boy.”

“Why does it matter if he’s a boy?” asks another princess. “Nothing he said was wrong.”

“Yeah, he can think for himself and so can we!”

“He can be a princess if he wants to!”

“Turdina is a state of mind!”

All’s well that ends well, but will audiences ever see Princess Turdina again? Not likely. “Well, looks like Turdina’s gone for good,” Marco says. “That corset was killing me.”

Star vs. the Forces of Evil also aired Disney’s first same-sex kiss earlier this year. The first instance takes place midway through the titular song (video below), when a male couple kisses. The next few feature at least two female couples and occur in a group shot after Marco realizes his best friend has run off.

VIDEO: Disney sued by singer who claims Frozen hit ‘Let It Go’ RIPPED OFF his song

Chilean singer Jaime Ciero is suing everyone connected to “Let It Go,” alleging that the track copied his Spanish-language track “Volar.” Jaime Ciero claims in a new lawsuit that the smash hit from “Frozen” was inspired by his 2008 song “Volar” and wants royalties from Disney, Idina Menzel and Demi Lovato.

According to TMZ, Ciero said his single was “a huge international success reaching millions of listeners and landing on numerous charts of the most popular, top-performing songs.”

Jaime Ciero claims in a new lawsuit “Let It Go” was obviously inspired by his song, “Volar.”  Ciero recorded the song in 2008 and it was played globally.  Ciero calls the song “a huge international success reaching millions of listeners and landing on numerous charts of the most popular, top-performing songs.”

This is not the first time “Frozen,” the highest-grossing animated film of all time, has been sued. In 2014, A woman in Kuwait claimed that the story for Disney’s animated mega-hit “Frozen” was lifted from her book.  In the end the judge iced here case.

Listen to both (below).  Not so sure … even though “Volar” is recorded in Spanish, there are similarities though.  Maybe?  The question … are there enough to make a case?

Listen, and judge for yourself. Are there enough similarities to make a case?

He originally considered building Disneyland in Griffith Park, near Disney Studios, but the space didn’t turn out to be large enough. The bench from the park is now located in the foyer of “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.”

Number 9: The FAA Put a Flight Restriction on Disney World Airspace After 9/11

    Disney World Main Street

Due to security concerns, a no-fly zone was put into effect within a three mile radius of Cinderella’s Castle after the 9/11 attacks in 2001.

Number 8: Disney World Is Second Only to the US Military as the Nation’s Largest Consumer of Explosives

    Disney World FireWorks

Thankfully, it’s only because of the frequency of their knock-out fireworks displays.

Number 7: Disneyland Has Feral Cats Living in the Park.

Though knowledge of their existence has been carefully guarded from reaching the ears of Mickey for decades, Disneyland actually has a number of feral cats who roam the park at night in order to help control the… mouse population. In exchange, the kitties are all spayed/neutered, given regular shots, fed, and even have their own website at disneylandcats.com.

Number 6: The Skull on the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride Is Real

    Prates of the Caribbean Disneyland

When the ride first opened at Disneyland in 1967, its designers found that the fake skeletons available were too flimsy. Despite the creepiness factor, they discovered that actual human skeletons worked much more to their liking and originally used several that the UCLA Medical School had lying around. Though have since been replaced by fakes, the skull and cross bones seen above are among the few genuine human remains left inside the ride.

Number 5: Walt Disney Once Ordered Trash Cans Be Placed Exactly 25 Steps From the Hot Dog Booth at Disneyland

    Mickey Mouse Hot Dog
He chose this super specific distance because that’s exactly how long it took him to eat a hot dog.

Number 4: CInderella’s fountain may have some details you haven’t noticed
    Cinderella crowned

As you pass through the castle from Main St. and emerge into Fantasyland you will see a water fountain right in front of a statue of Cinderella. From the right vantage point it looks as though the crown behind her is on her head.

Number 3: Disney Parks Are Designed to Enchant Your Sense of SmellMain Street

Disney Parks use “Smellitizers” to ensure that various areas are equipped with the appropriate smells. They produce everything from the amazing “baked goods” smell on Main Street to the musky sea smell on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

Number 2: The Window Above the Fire Station on Disneyland’s Main Street Looks out From Walt Disney’s Private Apartment

    Walt's Apartment

You can still see a light in the window that used to be lit in order to announce that Disney himself was on the property. After he passed away, it was lit permanently and is now never extinguished in order to symbolize his constant presence in the world he created.

    Number 1:  There’s a Secret Suite in Cinderella’s Castle

    Cinderellas Castle Suite

Cinderella’s castle at Walt Disney World houses a secret suite. At Disneyland, the so-called Dream Suite is located above the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in New Orleans Square. It was originally intended to be an apartment for Walt Disney and his family, but he passed away before it was finished being built. It rocks 24 karat gold floor tiles, stained glass windows, and a magic mirror that doubles as a television. Disney now occasionally allows families who win a competition to stay in the suite for the night.

This is just a few of the many secrets from the Disney Parks. Leave us some comments on your favorite secrets.
