Disney Blocked Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean Return

Disney blocked Johnny Depp from making a returning cameo appearance to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise according to a recent report.

The studio had distanced itself from the 57-year-old actor even before his ‘wife beater’ libel trial in the UK, despite never formally severing ties according to The Hollywood Reporter.

THR reveals Disney blocked Depp’s return. Citing producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s desire to include Depp in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie, even if just in a cameo role to hand over the reins of the franchise to Robbie, the report says “Disney balked,” refusing to entertain the idea due to the reputation risk it would pose for the family-friendly media giant. Disney had already backed away from a Pirates future with Depp well before the U.K. trial, even if it never formally severed ties. Bruckheimer, who has been one of Depp’s biggest champions and once suggested the finger injury happened because “he got it caught in a car door,” was hoping to at least bring the Captain Jack Sparrow character back briefly in the next outing — said to be a female-centric incarnation fronted by Margot Robbie. Disney balked.

There have already been multiple petitions signed by more than a million fans online, that have demanded Depp be reinstated in his role as Sparrow.

Meanwhile, in the same article it was reported that Depp had tried to keep his wife Heard from starring in the 2018 action film Aquaman, with the actor allegedly attempting to have her replaced from the movie.

Find Holiday Character Meet & Greets, Cavalcades and More Entertainment at Magic Kingdom
If you’re in need of some holiday cheer, look no further, because the Holiday Magic is alive at Disney’s Magic Kingdom this year! Decorations have been hung by the castle with care and you can now find Holiday character meet & greets, cavalcade and more.

This year the fun isn’t just at an after hours Christmas Party; the holiday entertainment happens all day long. It all starts on Main Street, with the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet delivering festive harmonies, while the Main Street Philharmonic marches along with life sized toy soldiers.

There are several locations throughout the park where characters appear to “Surprise and Delight” guests. You can interact with them and take socially distanced selfies as you can see below:

As you’re strolling through Frontierland you might catch some characters from the Country Bear Jamboree wearing peppermint striped scarves. They love to post for the camera!
To the left of the Country Bear Jamboree is a walkway connecting Frontierland to Adventureland. This is Chip and Dale’s favorite spot to goof around.

Santa Stitch can be found making mischief on the Tomorrowland stage. While he’s taking a break for some milk and cookies you might be able to see Buzz Lightyear!

The Muppets have returned to Liberty Square. They don’t have a holiday show, but they will interact with you and take socially distanced selfies if you ask them.

The last character is also the most rare! Jiminy Cricket can be found hanging out on the balcony above Pinocchio Haus in Fantasyland. He looks so Dapper in his Holiday outfit.

I found that these character interactions still aren’t well known, and the characters don’t arrive any any set schedule. Therefore, there aren’t really lines to see them and you can get some great photos and interactions!

There are also four Character Cavalcades that make their way from Splash Mountain in Frontierland to the Fire Station on Main St. Mickey’s Holiday Cavalcade is a holiday celebration with Mickey Mouse and his friends.

Goofy’s Scrumptious Cavalcade features Goofy cooking up some holiday fun from his gingerbread house and bake shop floats, joined by dancing gingerbread men. A Royal Christmas Processional heralds the arrival of Disney princesses on a crystal castle float. Santa’s Cavalcade has all the reindeer pulling his sleigh and some silly elves dancing along behind him with presents they forgot to pack. These mini parades only run until dusk, so make sure you get to the park early if you want to see them all.
When night falls at Magic Kingdom, projection effects transform Cinderella Castle with a kaleidoscope of designs. There are four designs including a whimsical Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green and gold ornamentation. The iconic castle provides the perfect colorful background for guests seeking a magical holiday portrait.

I don’t know about you, but I am so happy the Holidays have arrived at Magic Kingdom! All of the decorations are out, I saw so many festive outfits on guests, and all the entertainment makes this such a festive time.

New Delta and Disney+ Partnership Brings Exclusive In-Flight Entertainment to the Skies

Delta and Disney+ have struck a new deal that will allow passengers to access exclusive Disney movies while they travel at 30,000 feet.

Delta customers can now enjoy a selection of movies and TV shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic thanks to the airline’s most recent partnership with Disney+.

Disney Reveals Details on New Nighttime Spectaculars Replacing IllumiNations at Epcot

As we previously reported, Disney is ending the nearly 20 year run of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth as Epcot’s nighttime spectacular and the question is, what will be replacing it?

Earlier this month at D23’s Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek shared an exciting update on the multiyear transformation of Epcot, including details on new nighttime entertainment planned for the park and additions to World Showcase.

Among the announcements were updates on a new nighttime spectacular planned to open at the park in 2020. This new show will celebrate how Disney music inspires people around the world, and will feature massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics and lasers.

But before that new show debuts, there will be a limited-time experience Epcot fans will love, called “Epcot Forever,” which will debut in fall 2019 and will feature classic Epcot tunes. “Epcot Forever” will begin with a spark of imagination that swells into an epic spectacle of fireworks, music, lighting, lasers, and special effects kites.

Also in Town Center, Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories is now the ultimate spot for high-end fashion jewelry from Disney Parks. Delicious New Flavors Coming Soon

The highly-anticipated Wine Bar George will open its doors later this spring, bringing the expertise of Master Sommelier George Miliotes to Disney Springs. The wine list will feature more than 135 wines by the ounce, glass and bottle, and the menu will include small plates, cheese and charcuterie, and sharable entrees. The design of the two-story space will reflect the style of a winemaker’s home estate, with a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere.
