Get yer lasso’s ready, cowpokes, because here is some rootin’ tootin’ news for ya! There’s a brand-new table-service restaurant coming to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Upon entering Andy’s back yard, guests are magically transformed to the size of a toy, surrounded by toys and playsets scattered throughout the area. And soon, guests will discover that a new play area has been set up – and it’s called Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant. But of course, being Andy, it certainly isn’t your usual rodeo…
Using three cardboard boxes cut and taped together, Andy has created a new rodeo arena using some of his favorite toys, games, and play sets. And while some pieces are definitely western-themed, what makes this rodeo special is the broad assortment of toys that have been brought together to create a fun, colorful mashup-atmosphere that only a child could create.
Once inside, you’ll be surrounded by all of the rodeo festivities in-action as well as western town and train station play sets. And you just might spot some of your favorite Disney•Pixar characters scattered throughout the restaurant in the form of toys and game pieces including a toy version of Jessie riding on the back of a Trixie pull-toy and unique toy versions of Bo Peep and her sheep, all who appear to be performing in the rodeo together.
This immersive restaurant will surround guests with a kaleidoscope of toys, games, and playsets, providing yet another unique, fun, family-friendly dining experience that could only be had in Toy Story Land. Last year we received news of an all-new cinematic nighttime experience called “Wonderful World of Animation,” coming to Hollywood Studios and today Disney has released new video giving us a sneak peek at the new show.
The all-new nighttime experience will make it’s debut May 1 and it uses state-of-the-art projection mapping technology and other effects to take guests on a magical journey through more than 90 years of Disney animation.
The team at Disney Parks Live Entertainment has been working on the show for months and are now in the final stages of programming and preparation. Over the last couple weeks, the production team and creative designers, representing audio, video, lighting, music and special effects disciplines, have gone in after the park is closed for the day, fine-tuning everything to get it just right for the grand opening. Take a peek below for a look behind the scenes:
“Wonderful World of Animation” begins with the one-and-only Mickey Mouse, celebrating his starring role in “Fantasia” before launching into other sequences filled with magic, family, adventure, romance, villainy and friendship. Each theme is brought to life through unforgettable moments from Disney and Pixar animated films, from “Coco” and “The Incredibles” to “Sleeping Beauty” and “Ralph Breaks the Internet.”
With nods to the vast library from Disney and Pixar Animation Studios’ long legacy, “Wonderful World of Animation” is the perfect complement to an exhilarating day of adventures at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a great way to celebrate the park’s 30th anniversary.
As we’ve previously shared, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is opening on May 31 at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California and August 29 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, but if you want to be among the first in the galaxy to visit the new land, you are going to need to make a reservation.
If you are planning to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort between May 31 and June 23, 2019, a reservation and theme park admission are required. There is no additional cost to make a reservation, but reservations are subject to availability.
Guests looking to guarantee a reservation to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge today can get one by staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel between May 31 and June 23, 2019.
Specific details on how to make reservations will be available on the Disney Parks Blog and Disneyland.com on May 2 at 8 a.m. PT. You must have a Disney Account to register for a reservation so be sure to create one before registration opens at 10 a.m. PT.

Disney’s After Hours has been expanded to include Hollywood Studios and now we can share that there are two special events being added to the Hollywood Studios After Hours Line-Up!
If you’re a Pixar or Star Wars fans you don’t want to miss these! During After Hours at Hollywood Studios a limited number of Guests will enjoy a unique, 3-hour park experience—featuring popular attractions and Character Greetings, with little-to-no wait!
The first event is Wednesday, May 1st, where they will be celebrating Disney’s Hollywood Studios 30th Anniversary.
“On this day, we celebrate three decades worth of movie magic and super heroic action. Meet some of your favorite Disney and Disney•Pixar pals throughout the park for special photo ops. Then, be sure to bring home a piece of history when you purchase 30th Anniversary souvenirs.”
The second event is Saturday, May 4th, to celebrate May the 4th Be With You.
“Star Wars fans of all ages won’t want to miss this stellar night. Don your best cosplay and blast off to Star Wars Launch Bay where you’ll encounter Chewbacca with Rey, Kylo Ren with Captain Phasma, and more! As you explore the park you may even meet some friendly ewoks—but beware—you could also find those loyal to the dark side. Themed merchandise and tasty treats will also be available.” If you plan on attending this event make sure you’re familiar with Disney’s costume guidelines!

The price for tickets purchased in advance is $125 per adult or child, plus tax—or purchased on the day of the event for $129 per adult or child, plus tax. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can take advantage of specially priced tickets for just $95 per adult or child, plus tax.
Guests with Disney After Hours tickets can enter the park at 7:00 PM every event night—event times vary slightly depending on date. On these two special dates the event takes place from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM.

We recently got invited to the dessert party at Hollywood Studios and I can tell you this – if you’re looking for an experience that’s out of this Galaxy, look no further than the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Check in is right outside Star Wars Launch Bay, starting around 6:45pm. You’ll receive a special souvenir lanyard to wear. I recommend showing up as early as possible to have plenty of time to enjoy the party.
Once you’re checked in you’ll head inside the Launch Bay where a member of the crew will give you your table assignment.
The desserts are plentiful. We saw assorted cheesecake bites, chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter icing, a Death Star sized bread pudding that can be topped with vanilla ice cream, and many more. You can even enjoy your very own Blue Milk panna cotta!
If you’re looking for more savory options there were plenty of those too. Smoked sea salted flatbread, sliced prosciutto, hummus, mozzarella cheese, and more.
There is also a great drink selection, all included in the price of the party. Non-alcoholic options included a specially made punch, soda, coffee, and tea, while guests over 21 can choose from several themed cocktails. Make sure you bring your ID to this party, the Stormtroopers will be checking!
Another perk of this party is that it’s a great opportunity to meet the characters in Launch Bay with little to no wait. You’ll have a designated time to meet the Commander on Deck, aka Kylo Ren, and Chewbacca and BB-8 are available to meet during the party. Also, Stormtroopers patrol the room, providing a lot of great chances for pictures and interactions. The Stormtroopers are usually on the move when patrolling Hollywood Studios, so this is a special treat for all you First Order subjects.
After you’re done stuffing yourself with dessert and punch it’s time to head out to your reserved fireworks viewing area, where you’ll get to experience Disney Movie Magic and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. On the way out you get a souvenir drink stein to commemorate your experience.
I’ve heard people say that the viewing area is too close to the fireworks, but I disagree. I think it’s a prime spot that puts you front and center for the entire show. It really feels like you’re surrounded by the show.

Nancy Clancy, the high-spirited young girl from Disney Junior’s hit animated series “Fancy Nancy,” is making “une grande entrée” into Disney Parks this spring!
Just in time for the 30th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 1, you’ll be able to find Nancy at an all-new character greeting location in the park’s Animation Courtyard, where she’ll be meeting all her friends in front of her backyard playhouse. Nancy will also soon be part of the breakfast-time fun during Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine at Hollywood & Vine, the place to eat, play and laugh along with favorite Disney Junior friends including Vampirina, Doc McStuffins and Roadster Racer Goofy.
Later in May, Nancy will be heading to Disneyland Resort, too! There, you’ll get to see her just outside the “Disney Junior Dance Party!” in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure park.
Disney Junior’s animated family comedy “Fancy Nancy” follows six-year-old Nancy, whose imagination and enthusiasm for all that is exquisite transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary – from her vast vocabulary to her creative and elaborate attire. Nancy uses ingenuity and resourcefulness to exemplify that even if life doesn’t always go as planned, it’s important to make the most of each day and encourage others to do the same.
“Fancy Nancy” airs weekdays on Disney Channel and daily on Disney Junior, and is also available in the DisneyNOW app.

This tour gets you exclusive, VIP access to everything Star Wars Hollywood Studios has to offer, with some backstage magic thrown in. Our first stop was launching into hyperspace aboard a Starspeeder 1000 on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. We were the first guests to ride that day and our guides took time to show us all the hidden Easter eggs in the ride queue. I don’t want to give away too much, but we even got a backstage peek at the inner workings of the ride!
After our Starspeeder landed safely we had a private screening of the movie, ‘Star Wars: Path of the Jedi,’ which is currently not available to regular guests.
Then we headed over to the Launch Bay for some character meet and greets. While we were waiting we got harassed by a couple First Order Storm Troopers, so make sure you keep your identification with you at all times!
In the Star Wars launch bay we met Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, and BB-8. All without a wait. Chewbacca gives the best hugs! Kylo Ren is a little intimidating, and BB-8 is super cute. He IS the droid you’ve been looking for! During his meet and greet the Cast Members help translate and he interacts with each guest differently.
Before leaving the Launch Bay our guides gave us a private tour of the exhibits featuring replica props, models, concept art and artifacts from the movies; some of which are on loan from Lucas Films.
If you lean toward the Dark Side you’ll love the next part of the tour. We were invited to be part of the March of the First Order! As Captain Phasma and her Storm Trooper guards made their way down Hollywood Boulevard we marched behind them; all the way to a reserved viewing area for the live stage show.
After the show it’s time to sink your jawas into a delicious meal at Backlot Express. Lunch includes reserved seating and any non-alcoholic drink of your choice. As a thank you for restoring freedom to your galaxy you will receive a souvenir of your tour to commemorate your adventures. During lunch you’ll also get another surprise character interaction. These characters can be a little demanding when it comes to pledging your loyalty, so make sure you know if you’re Dark side or Light side!

lunch is over it’s time to be Kylo Ren-dered speechless while
witnessing another live stage show; ‘Star
Wars:
A Galaxy Far, Far Away. This show features all your favorite
characters, past and present, including Darth Vader, Rey, and Darth
Mal.
Now, if you have younglings ages 4 through 12 in your party, this is the time for them to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. Normally you have to sign up for this experience, and slots fill up very fast, but you’re guaranteed a spot for all Padawan’s on the Star Wars Guided Tour.

Startrting today you can now join these “beast friends forever” for photos, hugs and a laugh or two as the Mike and Sulley meet and greet returns to Hollywood Studios.
The pair have had a home at Hollywood Studios before, but they have been from the park since the closure of the Streets of America. But what’s import here is that they are back!
Get ready for a warm and wild welcome as you step inside the world of Monsters, Inc. to meet, greet and pal around with Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan.
For a monster, Mike’s a loyal and devoted friend—but keep an eye out for his wise-cracking, playful side. And don’t let Sulley’s horns, claws and humongous size fool you—he’s got a soft spot for humans.
Disney Parks has released a first close-up look at the Millennium Falcon in a behind-the-scenes look at development on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios.
Guests can take the controls of the fastest ship of the galaxy in Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, one of two signature attractions coming to Galaxy’s Edge. This attraction will put guests behind the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy. There will be three unique flight crew roles guests will be able to take on.
The second attraction is called Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Guests will be in the middle of an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order in this attraction.
This all-new land opens at Disneyland (summer 2019) and Walt Disney World (fall 2019).
