Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World was alcohol free since it opened in 1971, until Be Our Guest restaurant opened in 2012.  Several more locations began selling alcohol after the seal had been broken and now all of the Table service restaurants in the park all sell alcohol.

After Be Our Guest opened the taps other restaurants followed not too long after. In 2016 four other restaurants four more restaurants were added to the list including, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Liberty Tree Tavern, Skipper’s Canteen and Tony’s Town Square.

Then, not to be out done, just last week The Crystal Palace and The Plaza Restaurant joined the list of table service restaurants in Magic Kingdom to serve alcohol. Festival Of Fantasy Dragon Catches Fire At Magic Kingdom

The Maleficent dragon float from the Festival of Fantasy Parade burst into flames today at the Magic Kingdom.

The head of the dragon which spits flames daily on its parade route went up in flames after an apparent malfunction with the float While guest looked on in awe.

Guests immediately took to the internet posting pictures and videos of the fire.

Lucky it appears that the fire was quickly extinguished and there are no reports of any injuries. The only injury is to the dragon float itself.  It’s badly damaged and we will have to see if Disney repairs it or scraps it after this incident.

Take a look the video below to get a look for yourself.

  • Disney Files Permit For Another Magic Kingdom-Area Project

Disney Files Permit For Another Magic Kingdom-Area Project

Disney filed another permit on Monday with the South Florida Water Management District seeking to use a 30-acre site south of the theme park for temporarily stockpiling fill. The project which is named in the documents as “Stolport Stockpile” plans to use the area for “temporary stockpiling of earthwork”.

    stolport project

The project is most likely named “Stolport Stockpile” because it sits just east of the old STOLport. The Lake Buena Vista STOLport, or “Short Takeoff and Landing” port was built in 1971 to serve as a private airfield for Walt Disney World guests and employees.

This immediately brought up speculation about if the project might have something to do with a revamp of the airport, but documents included in the filing show it appears to be related to Disney’s “Project 89”. Disney filed permits for “geotechnical work” at the site of Disney’s former River Country water park back in March.

According to those permits, Disney is going to “Conduct geotechnical investigation to assess the suitability of subsurface soils”.  In layman’s terms, they will be drilling to evaluate the soil conditions at the River Country site.

No one knows for sure what Disney’s plans for the area are, but many have speculated that a new Magic Kingdom resort could be in the works and it’s likely another DVC resort. At this point Disney hasn’t released any information about what either project is for.

  • Disney Unveils New Purple Wall Design at Magic Kingdom

Disney Unveils New Purple Wall Design at Magic Kingdom

The paint has dried and the selfie taking has begun!  On Monday, Disney unveiled it’s new purple wall in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. The newly redesigned wall now features an updated purple color scheme in still makes for an Insta-worthy photo-op.

    New Purple Wall

For Disney it may have “all started with a mouse”, but for Instagrammers, the #DisneyWall trend all started with a wall – a purple wall to be exact… So many guests found the purple pigment of this wall to make an ideal Instagram background that the wall quickly earned its own hashtag – #purplewall – and became a sought-after photo stop for guests visiting the park.

If you’re looking to get a picture with the new purple wall you can find it just down the ramp from Tomorrowland Terrace toward the entrance to Tomorrowland. Right when you hit the turn into the land, you’ll see the Purple Wall on your right.

  • Disney World Changes Famous Purple Wall Leaving Many Upset Guests

Disney World Changes Famous Purple Wall Leaving Many Upset Guests

Walt Disney World is known for many of its iconic rides and attractions but a recent social media trend has vaulted a blank purple wall at Magic Kingdom to the top of the list for photo ops for park-goers. In a strange turn of events, Disney has changed the famous purple wall at the height of its popularity.

Unfortunately for many who now add snapping a pic in front of the famous purple wall to their must do Disney list will now have a new and different looking wall in their backgrounds. The change has left many guests confused since the park recently started a new merchandise campaign for the wall complete with hats and MagicBands with the phrase “Meet me at the Purple Wall.

Social media has turned purple with frustration over the change as the entire point of the trend was the fact that it was just a blank purple wall with a shade of purple that was just perfect for that Instagram selfie. But all is not lost…  There is still a section on the side that is solid purple albeit a smaller section. Still plenty big enough to get that coveted #PurpleWall Instagram pic.

Some fans are embracing the change and going with the futuristic flow.

Others are outright distraught and are not happy with the change.

Disney Parks had announced that enhancements were underway for the wall, but the new geometric design was not what guests were expecting. It’s rather futuristic looking which is possibly as part of an advanced re-theming of Tommorowland in advance of the new Tron Coaster coming to the park.

If you’re looking to get a picture with the newly designed purple wall you can find it just down the ramp from Tomorrowland Terrace toward the entrance to Tomorrowland. Right when you hit the turn into the land, you’ll see the Purple Wall on your right.

As we mentioned, there is still some purple wall left for your photos so now the wall is a Two-Fur.  Now you get to take a picture with both! #PurpleWall vs. #NewPurpleWall. Let the purple wall battles begin! Don’t forget there are still a lot of other photo worthy walls around Disney parks and there surely be more to come.

  • VIDEO: YouTuber Jason Ethier Arrested at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

VIDEO: YouTuber Jason Ethier Arrested at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

ImJayStation, also known as Jason Ethier, a popular Youtuber with nearly 1.9 million subscribers was arrested outside the ticket area at Disney’s Magic Kingdom on Sunday.

According to an arrest affidavit, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office took Either into custody on suspicion of trespassing and resisting an officer without violence while he was live streaming.

    YouTuber Jason Ethier

According to the affidavit, Ethier was verbally aggressive with theme park security, because he was upset about his bag had been possibly being taken by another guest. He threatening to sue them if he didn’t get his camera back and was told by the Magic Kingdom’s security that he could check lost and found or try calling guest claims.

Finally Disney authorities ordered Ethier to leave the property and that’s when he started filming the theme park’s security officers as they escorted him out.

That’s when things went south for Ethier. The arresting deputy wrote that as he was walking away, Ethier “turned around and began to yell and squared his body towards me.” The deputy took it as an act of aggression and he went to restrain the popular YouTuber, “I went to secure Mr. Ethier and as I grabbed his left arm he yanked and tried to break my grasp. Mr. Ethier was then taken to the ground using an arm bar take down.”

Of course Ethier sent out some tweets on Monday after the arrest:

Then in another tweet the Youtuber went on to blame the police for stealing his camera. “Guys @OrlandoPolice stole my camera last night they won’t give it back for 7days! Even tho it was false arrest at Disney! It is all my videos I’ve recorded for YouTube on it!!! Wtffff ima get so much money from Disney and these crooked police it’s not even funny!”, the tweet read.

Then he topped it off with one more tweet stating, “you are going to get sued real quick… once we get your security footage of your guards stealing peoples stuff in the security”.

One thing is clear from the videos online. Though he was upset and making a scene while he was being escorted out he was actually exiting the premises of his own free will and was not being forced out.

Take a look at the video below to hear his side of the story and decide for yourself if you think he was resisting arrest or if he should have been allowed to leave?

  • Reimagined Redhead Returns to Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney World with New Auction Scene

Reimagined Redhead Returns to Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney World with New Auction Scene

Pirates of the Caribbean reopened Monday in the Magic Kingdom Park with a new role for the storied Redhead who was once up for auction on the attraction.

So if you ‘wants the redhead’, don’t worry she hasn’t gone anywhere. The famed Redhead now has a new look and a new attitude. She is also sporting a rifle and clearly isn’t taking any guff from any scurvy pirates.

Red Head Pirates of the Caribbean

The pirate auctioneer now oversees a sale of the townspeople’s most prized possessions and goods. In this scene, the familiar redhead figure has switched sides to become a pirate named Redd, who’s just pillaged the town’s rum supply and has something to say about it.

“Aw, quit your cluckin’,” Redd says. “The gentlemen wants the rum, dontcha, boys?” she calls to pirates on the opposite side of the ride’s waterway. The pirates shouting back, “We wants the rum! We wants the rum!”

The scene originally depicted a group of women bound to an auction block, with a banner reading “Auction: Take a wench for a bride” hanging above their heads. A group of nearby pirates could also be heard requesting the redheaded “wench,” who was the most prominently displayed woman on the block.

The storyline change for the attraction’s was announced by Disney last summer and put into place during the recent refurbishment.

“Just as Walt Disney embraced and encouraged Disney Parks to ‘keep moving forward’ since the opening of Disneyland Park in 1955”, Disney said about the new changes.

This isn’t the first time Disney has modified its “Pirates” rides to become more family-friendly. In 1997, Disney redesigned a scene in which pirates were chasing women, and changed it so the pirates looked to be chasing the women for the trays of food they carried. They have also augmented scenes with Jack Sparrow from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise.

Pirates of the Caribbean Johnny Deep

The auction scene in the attraction at Disneyland Paris received a similar revision last year. Disneyland park will also receive similar updates to its Pirates of the Caribbean attraction later this spring, with work beginning April 23.
