Anne Hathaway revealed Thursday on “Watch What Happens Live” that a third installment of the 2001 Disney hit is in the works.
It has been 18 years since we witnessed Mia Thermopolis’ journey from rags to royalty.
“There is a script for the third movie. I want to do it, Julie wants to do it. Deborah Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it,” Hathaway informed host Andy Cohen.
Based on the books by Meg Cabot, the first “Princess Diaries” from 2001 was about an American teenager who finds out she is heir to a European throne is based on Meg Cabot’s young adult novel of the same name.
While the key parties are excited for Princess Mia to return to her throne in Genovia, Hathaway, 36, cautioned fans that it wouldn’t be in the near future.
“It’s just we don’t want to unless it’s perfect because we love it just as much as you guys love it,” the “Ocean’s 8” star said. “It’s as important to us as it is to you, and we don’t want to deliver anything until it’s ready, but we’re working on it.”
In honor of the Maleficent Float returning to the Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Magic Kingdom, Disney is bringing back the Maleficent inspired ice cream cone for a limited time!
It’s lime soft-serve in a black waffle cone, topped with purple sugar and chocolate horns.
Guests may find it a familiar concoction as it’s one of the most beloved sweet sensations from Halloween season. You can find the “Maleficent” at Storybook Treats in Fantasyland.
If you’re looking for more ways to celebrate Maleficent ‘s return, guests can also find perfect Maleficent-themed souvenirs and merchandise. From T-shirts to earrings, jewelry and even Maleficent socks, guests can deck themselves out in Maleficent Couture from head to toe – available at Sir Mickey’s and The Emporium at Magic Kingdom Park.
Disney Ears, featuring her iconic horns, can be found at millinery shops like Le Chapeau at Magic Kingdom Park and Celebrity 5 and 10 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests can also take home pins, ornaments and other mementos from their favorite villainess.
Disney Springs also offers a veritable feast for the shopper with guests finding couture with “Disney Style” offering an array of souvenirs; ornaments at Disney’s Days of Christmas shop and pins at Disney’s pin traders. As we previously reported, The Maleficent Dragon float would be returning to the Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Magic Kingdom and it looks like the time is finally here!
Disney has confirmed that everyone’s favorite villain, Maleficent, is returning to Magic Kingdom Park today to re-take her rightful place in the parade.
The float was removed from the parade back in May after it burst into flames as the parade strolled through the park. The head of the dragon spits flames and apparently malfunctioned. Take a look at the video below to see the incident.
The fire was quickly extinguished after it broke out and there were no reports of injuries.
While she still has her same Steampunk style and signature wicked smile, the Maleficent dragon will be sporting a refreshed look, enhanced with new features designed to keep her in check while on show.
Tuesday, Disney announced that José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup will be opening one of the first-ever brick-and-mortar location of Pepe by José Andrés, inspired by the popular Washington DC food truck of the same name!
Pepe by José Andrés, located right next to Jaleo at Disney Springs, will feature an extensive menu of hot and cold Spanish-style sandwiches including bocatas and bikinis, showcasing the best of José’s native country Spain.

In addition to the sandwiches, Pepe will serve salads, soups and sides along with Spanish sangria.
The walls of Pepe are decorated with an elaborate mural by Marc Jesús, a famous Menorcan painter, featuring his ever-happy, blue-skinned female characters. The space, as well as Jaleo, was designed by celebrated Spanish designer Juli Capella.
Nominations for the 91st Oscars were revealed Tuesday, and Disney releases earned 17 nominations in all!
Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is Disney’s most-nominated release, with seven nods in all, including Best Picture. Mary Poppins Returns received four nominations, and Incredibles 2 and Ralph Breaks the Internet are both among the nominees for best Animated Feature Film.
“Congratulations to all of our nominated films, and especially Black Panther. To see it recognized by the Academy today with seven nominations, including Best Picture, is truly an honor,” said Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger following Tuesday’s announcement.
The statuettes will be handed out on February 24, in a live broadcast airing on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Take a look below to see all the Disney nominees:

Tuesday, Shanghai Disney Resort announced that a “Zootopia”-themed land is coming to Shanghai Disneyland!
The Land will be based on the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ hit animated movie, this exciting development will be the park’s eighth themed land and the first-ever “Zootopia”-themed land at any Disney park.
This marks the second major expansion since the resort opened in 2016. The first expansion added a Toy Story Land to the park where guests feel as if they’ve been shrunk down to the size of their favorite Toy Story toys.
In this new land guests will be invited to experience the mammalian metropolis of Zootopia “where anyone can be anything,” with a new major attraction that will seamlessly blend Disney storytelling and state-of-the-art technology to bring this fan-favorite movie and its characters to life – including Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. Entertainment, merchandise, and food and beverage offerings will invite guests to fully immerse themselves in the Academy-Award-winning animated movie.
The development of the world’s first “Zootopia”-themed land follows the huge success of the “Zootopia” animated movie globally, particularly in China where it broke box office records to become the country’s No. 1 animated feature film in history.

Construction on Disney’s new Skyliner gondola system is moving along rapidly and today the first gondola cable cars were were spotted being installed today Walt Disney World.
We got a glimpse of the gondolas making their way onto Disney property back in June and now we are getting a look at exactly what these will look like while hanging on the line.
As you can see in the photos below the gondolas are being added to the line at the International Gateway Disney Skyliner station at Epcot.

When it’s finished, the transportation system will connect Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach resorts and other locations with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot.
There is no official date, but the Disney Skyliner project is expected to be completed by fall of 2019.
Disney’s Riviera Resort is coming to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida as the 15th Disney Vacation Club property and it will immerse guests in the grandeur and enchantment of the European Riviera. Today, Disney announced this all-new resort is now accepting guest reservations for stays beginning in December 2019.
“Disney’s Riviera Resort is inspired by Walt and Lillian Disney’s travels throughout Europe and the Mediterranean coastline —from France to Italy,” said Terri Schultz, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Vacation Club. “Walt fell in love with European art, architecture, food and stories, and his extended tours of the region continue to influence Disney storytelling and theming. Disney’s Riviera Resort brings the elegance of a modern European retreat blended with a touch of old-world glamour and Disney charm to the Disney Vacation Club portfolio and Walt Disney World Resort. With an elegant early-20th-century design, Disney’s Riviera Resort will welcome guests with a palm tree-lined boulevard and a striking façade featuring grand archways, porticos, cascading water features, towers and terraces. In the grand oval lobby that will provide stunning views of the resort lawn and lakefront, guests will encounter a mix of modern and classic furnishings. Throughout the resort and inside the accommodations, a unique art collection will celebrate beloved Disney characters and icons with one-of-a-kind pieces influenced by the works of master artists who also found inspiration along the European Riviera. The deluxe Disney Vacation Club resort is slated to offer approximately 300 family-friendly vacation homes, including deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and grand villas that sleep up to 12 guests each. Disney Vacation Club continues to offer the widest range of accommodations found at Walt Disney World, and adding to these unique accommodations will be an all-new room category — tower studios, which sleep two guests each. Each charming, bright tower studio will include a private balcony with scenic views and seating for two, offering a more intimate setting. The deluxe studios, which sleep five, will also feature kitchenettes. One-bedroom, two-bedroom and grand villas will feature large, fully equipped kitchens with dining space open to a living area. Villas will also feature an en-suite luxury bathroom, including a freestanding soaking tub and walk-in shower, as well as a private porch or balcony and a laundry area with a washer and dryer.
Topolino is the Italian name for Mickey Mouse, and the new, signature table-service restaurant perched on the rooftop of Disney’s Riviera Resort will be aptly called Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera. The restaurant, featuring authentic dishes infused with French and Italian flavors, is set to become one of the most stunning dining experiences at Walt Disney World, offering picturesque vistas of the nighttime spectaculars of nearby Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Inside, guests can watch with wonder as their meal is prepared just for them at the exclusive expo kitchen or wood burning grill. Guests looking to pair their meal with a glass of wine can choose from an impressive collection of wines sourced from the Mediterranean coast. Throughout the restaurant, a stunning visual aesthetic is created through modern interpretations of textures, colors, carved details, and stonework found in ancient villages along the Riviera. Guests at Disney’s Riviera Resort will also have a new way to travel to Epcot or on to Disney’s Hollywood Studios via Disney Skyliner, a state-of-the-art gondola system that will begin operating this fall. In addition to a dedicated Disney Skyliner station at Disney’s Riviera Resort, the system will conveniently connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
Offering the flexibility, value and world-class service families expect, Disney’s Riviera Resort will be the first all-new, stand-alone Disney Vacation Club property at Walt Disney World since 2004. You’ll blow your top when you see the new Valentine’s Day themed MagicBand! Disney has released a new Magicband featuring characters from the Pixar short film Lava at Walt Disney World.
This Magicband has the cutest design on it. One side features Uku, the lonely volcano, and text saying “I Lava You” and the other side features Lele, Uku’s love interest, with the words “Happy Valentine’s Day 2019” written on it.
This is the fourth Valentine’s Day band Disney has released. It is a limited edition with a size 2400 and retails for $34.99. You can find it in Disney Parks as well as shopDisney.com

Back in November the introduced it at Disneyland Resort and now your old pal has arrived at Disney World in Sipper Cup form.
It was only available for a limited time and was a quick sell out. It looks awesome with Magic Kingdom backgrounds as you can see in the post below:
The Mickey Mouse Sipper served with choice of fountain drink or specialty beverage is available at Casey’s Corner on Main Street and Cosmic Ray’s in Tommorowland. It will only set you back about $13.99 and if you want one without a beverage it’s only $9.99.
