  • New Cauldron Shaped ‘Hocus Pocus’ Board Game Released by Disney

New Cauldron Shaped ‘Hocus Pocus’ Board Game Released by Disney

Halloween time is right around the corner and Disney has released a new ‘Hocus Pocus’ board game that will have you running ‘Amok Amok Amok.’

The object of the game is to prevent the witches from completing their wicked potion before the sun rises. The Sanderson Sisters will of course try to sabotage your game by casting spells, but you can use help from Thackery Binx the cat, and tricks — like the Rain of Death — to help you along the way.

“Under the light of a full moon on All Hallows’ Eve, you and your friends sneak into the old Sanderson house. On a dare, you light the Black Flame Candle – surely the old stories are just a bunch of hocus pocus. Before you know it, the Sanderson sisters have come back from the dead, ready to brew their terrible potion and suck the lives from the children of Salem. It’s up to you to ruin the witches’ potion and put an end to their terrible deeds forever!” the instructions say. Basically, it’s like you’re inside the movie and have to work your way to a happy ending.

You can order Hocus Pocus: The Game on Amazon for $19.99. It includes one cauldron board, 50 Ingredient cards, a Witch board, 13 Spell cards, a Sun token, four trick tokens, a rulebook, and one Binx meeple.

The game can be played with two to eight players ages 8 and older. It takes about 30 minutes to play, so you can get in a round before turning on the movie.

The packaging is designed to look like Winifred’s spell book and features the witches over their cauldron, obviously up to no good this Halloween.

  • Disney’s Live-Action ‘Mulan’ Headed Straight to Disney Plus in September for $30

Disney’s Live-Action ‘Mulan’ Headed Straight to Disney Plus in September for $30

After being postponed multiple times, Disney has announced that its tentpole film “Mulan” will bypass American theaters and go straight to Disney Plus next month.

Disney Plus now has over 60.5 million paying subscribers as of last month, just nine months after the launch of the direct-to-consumer streaming platform. And after several delays to its theatrical release date, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said that “Mulan” will premiere on the service on a “premiere access” basis on Sept. 4 for $29.99. The film will be released theatrically in markets in which access to the movie on Disney Plus is not available.

Chapek was quick to emphasize on the call with analysts that the “Mulan” release on Disney Plus is a one-time event.

“We’re looking at ‘Mulan’ as a one-off, as opposed to saying there’s some new business windowing model that we’re looking at,” he said.

“We find it very interesting to take a premiere offering to consumers at that $29.99 price and learn from it,” said Chapek, noting that they would study the number of transactions and the number of subscribers generated by the movie.

He also said that the premiere access window created on Disney Plus for “Mulan” acts as a “fairly large stimulus” for new consumers to sign up for the streaming service.

The tweet includes a 6-second video showing the empty boat under water. Take a look below:

“So we got out of our boat because it was sinking while we were stuck there and the disney world employee decided to tell us that we should’ve stayed in the boat but it went under as soon as we all stepped out,” the tweet reads.

In the video you can hear someone saying, “Do you see the boat?”

Another person is then heard responding, “I understand that, but this is a safety matter.”

  • New Socially-Distanced Disney Junior Dance Party Show Debuts at Disney World

New Socially-Distanced Disney Junior Dance Party Show Debuts at Disney World

After a disagreement with the Actors’ Equity Association, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has debuted a new modified version of the Disney Junior Dance Party.

The new show is called “Disney Junior Play & Dance!” It is shorter in length and has social distancing measures in place. Once inside, you’ll see markers on the floor for each party to stand on and dance around called “party zones.”

This modified show brings DJ DeeJay along with Doc McStuffins, Timon, Vampirina, and Roadster Mickey Mouse in a new, high-energy dance jam.

The new show is a result of an ongoing battle between Disney and the Actors’ Equity union. The show now features only non-equity performers, despite many of the equity performers speaking out against the union and willing to return to work.

Performances will take place approximately every 30 minutes throughout the day beginning at 11:15am located in the Animation Courtyard.
