  • Dwayne Johnson to Replace Johnny Depp in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Film, Report Says

Dwayne Johnson to Replace Johnny Depp in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Film, Report Says

As Johnny Depp and Amber Head’s legal battle comes to a close, rumours regarding Dwayne Johnson replacing Depp as ‘Captain Jack Sparrow’ have started doing rounds on the internet.

‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ producer Jerry Bruckheimer officially confirmed recently that a script is being developed with Margot Robbie as the lead character. When asked if Johnny Depp’s character ‘Captain Jack Sparrow’ would return, he said that currently there were no plans in the works.

It doesn’t seem that Johnson would play the role of Captain Jack Sparrow, but rather would be a different character introduced in the franchise, similar to what will be seen with Margot Robbie’s spinoff film.

Now, a report from Giant Freakin’ Robot indicates that Depp may never return in the role and, instead, Dwayne Johnson may be eyed for the next leading role in a Pirates of the Caribbean spinoff.

    The report reads:

“It has already been announced by Jerry Bruckheimer that two spinoffs are in the works. One will see Margot Robbie take the lead of the franchise. The other is currently a mystery for now. However, based on our trusted and proven source, we can report that a third spinoff is in the works. This third Pirates spinoff will star Dwayne Johnson.”

The Rock co-starred with Emily Blunt in Jungle Cruise, a film released in 2021. The positive link was enough reason to advance Johnson as the new protagonist.

  • Disney Considering Bringing Johnny Depp Back For Pirates Of The Caribbean After Online Petitions

Disney Considering Bringing Johnny Depp Back For Pirates Of The Caribbean After Online Petitions

Johnny Depp’s return as Captain Jack Sparrow for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is once again reportedly being “considered” by Disney.

The studio is considering the move “following a furious backlash from his fanbase,” according to Express.

After Depp was reportedly dropped from the billion dollar Disney franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean, last year, following his public libel court case against a British newspaper, news reports are emerging which claim a 180 from the studio is being considered about his future in the Pirates series.

The report states “Disney is re-considering the actor’s revival in their franchise,” following the enormous online petition that calls for his return.

The report goes on to add: “Rumours are rife that the Change.org petitions have forced the makers to reconsider.”

The petition in question arrived last year, and was titled: “We want JOHNNY DEPP back as CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW.” Since it arrived online, it has racked up a over 430,000 signatures.

Integrating Jack Sparrow back into the series will not be too difficult for the company. He was last seen alive and well in the fifth movie, Salazar’s Revenge, which came out in 2017.

In fact, the film also seemed to be kicking off yet another trilogy, set ten years after the franchise’s previous trio of films, as Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) was haunted by the ghoul Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) once again.

Petition Demanding Johnny Depp’s Return as Jack Sparrow Nears 300,000

After Johnny Depp lost his libel court case against a British newspaper that called him a “wife beater,” reports surfaced claiming that Disney was backing away from the actor, but now fans have started a petition calling for his return to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise.

A petition posted on change.org titled “We want JOHNNY DEPP back as CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW has been signed by over 250,000 as it heads towards its goal of at least 300,000.

“Johnny Depp has been out recently as Captain Jack Sparrow. One of the reasons is his personal issues as well,” the petition reads.

It continues: “He has been playing this role since 2003 when we first saw him arriving at the Port Royal in his boat with that epic background music playing.

“But can you imagine someone else portraying this instead of him? Or no Jack Sparrow at all?”

The petition goes on to say that without Depp’s Sparrow the Pirates franchise is a sunken ship.

Disney Reportedly Cutting Ties with Johnny Depp After ‘Wife Beater’ Libel Case Loss

Disney is backing away from Johnny Depp and is no longer considering him for any part of a potential “Pirates of the Caribbean” reboot after the actor lost lost his libel court case against a British newspaper that called him a “wife beater”, according to reports.

On Monday, the UK’s High Court ruled in the publisher’s favor which claimed there was “overwhelming evidence” that he had assaulted the actress Amber Heard repeatedly during their marriage.

“The House of Mouse is reportedly no longer interested in bringing back the embattled actor in any capacity when it comes to the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise,” according to WGTC.

Depp sued News Group Newspapers and Dan Wootton — The Sun’s executive editor — over an article that claimed the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star was violent toward Heard while they were together.

Citing evidence, including photos, audio recordings and Depp’s own text messages, lawyers for the newspaper group argued in court filings that Depp “beat his wife Amber Heard, causing her to suffer significant injury, and on occasion leading to her fearing for her life.”

Depp had admitted long-term problems with drugs and alcohol during the trial but said the tabloid’s claims that he was violent toward Heard were “completely untrue.”

However, Judge Andrew Nicol said in his 129-page judgment Monday that the paper’s claims had been shown to be “substantially true.”

In a statement, Depp’s law firm, Schillings, indicated he would contest the ruling, saying “the judgment is so flawed that it would be ridiculous for Mr Depp not to appeal this decision.”

  • RUMOR: ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Reboot To Star Female Pirate Redd as Sparrow Replacement

RUMOR: ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Reboot To Star Female Pirate Redd as Sparrow Replacement

As we previously reported, Disney might be considering rebooting their billion dollar Pirates of the Caribbean franchise without Johnny Depp and now rumor has it that the lead role may go to a female pirate that many Disney fans already know.

According to a report today from Hybrid News, the studio is looking to center the franchise on Redd, the recently revamped character in the popular Disney Parks attraction.

The character is well known to Disney fans and has been around for quite some time.  The redhead has been part of the auction scene in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction since it first opened, but last year Disney reimagined that section of the ride in both Disneyland and Disney World.

In Disney World’s new version the famed redhead is no longer being auctioned off. She has a new look and a new attitude! Now she sports a rifle and clearly isn’t taking any guff from any scurvy pirates.

A bit mysterious by nature, Redd travels to various ports throughout the Caribbean—selling rum and collecting coin.  She has been given a full back story and it could be just what Disney is looking for.  After all, the ride inspired the first set of movies, why not let it inspire the reboot as well.

There is no script as of yet, but what we do know at this point is that Disney has had early talks with Deadpool and Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick about writing the reboot.

  • Pirates Of The Caribbean May Reboot Without Johnny Depp

Pirates Of The Caribbean May Reboot Without Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp may have walked the plank as Jack Sparrow for the last time according to some reports. A “Pirates Of The Caribbean” exec hinted recently that the actor would not appear in the newly planned reboot of the franchise.

The 55-year-old has played Jack Sparrow in the films for the past 15 years, but he will reportedly no longer be part of the films as Disney Studios plan a reboot.

As Disney Studios confirm they are planning a major reboot for the franchise, script writer Stuart Beattie revealed in an interview with DailyMailTV that they were planning on reworking the whole franchise – and implying that Johnny Depp might not appear in the reboot.

“I think he’s had a great run”, the writer said of Johnny Depp’s 15 years playing Jack Sparrow. “Obviously, he’s made that character his own and it’s become the character he’s most famous for now. And kids all over the world love him as that character so I think it’s been great for him, it’s been great for us, so I’m just very, very happy about it.”

He went on to say that playing the pirate will be Depp’s “legacy” as “it’s the only character he’s played five times”, adding that it was the franchise that helped him to establish himself as an actor.

Screenrant reported back in August that, Disney is keen to bring Joachim Ronning back to direct a sixth Pirates movie, which would likely focus on the new, younger cast members; Brenton Thwaites as Henry Turner, and Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smyth.

According to , Disney has had early talks with Deadpool and Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick about writing a script.

It is not known why Depp has been dropped from the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, but Depp’s private life has been seriously marred recently by allegations of abuse from ex-wife Amber Heard, of substance abuse, of his treatment of cast and crew, and his general behavior on set.

At this point, it’s unclear if the statements would mean the end of Depp’s role as Jack Sparrow. Only time will tell.

  • RUMOR: Possible Dates For Free Dining Offer Returning To Disney World For 2018

RUMOR: Possible Dates For Free Dining Offer Returning To Disney World For 2018

Every year people wait with anticipation to find out about free dining offers that are typically announced around this time of year for Walt Disney World. Dates and details have not been released to the public as of yet, but multiple sources are reporting that free dining offers will be returning to Disney World for 2018 and could be announced as early as April 23rd.

Free dining packages are typically offered with a Disney World Resort hotel and ticket package. Last year the offer came when guests purchased a 5-night/6-day Magic Your Way package with the Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus Option and the package had to be booked by July 7, 2017. You can look for a similar deal this year, but the amount of days required for the package could vary.

Last year the free dining offer included quick service for guests staying at Disney’s value resorts, moderate resorts, and the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness and regular free dining for guests staying at Disney’s deluxe resorts. The 2018 offer will also most likely be similar to last years options as well. It’s always subject to change, but you can bet it will be an attractive offer for guests looking to save some money on their trip.

Here are some possible expected dates:

      • August 2 – September 29, 2018
      • November 24 – 27, 2018
      • December 7 – 23, 2018

The news often breaks from international travel agents from non-US markets who often receive early indication of what the offer will be in their respective markets, so the dates are also subject to change, but they are usually a pretty good indicator for dates and offer details.

Well be sure to let you know as soon as Disney makes an official announcement.

  • Disney To Remove ‘Wench Auction’ From Pirates Of The Caribbean Ride

Disney To Remove ‘Wench Auction’ From Pirates Of The Caribbean Ride

Disney apparently no longer wants the red head.  One of the most memorable scenes on one of Disney’s most iconic rides is getting a major makeover.

The company announced on Thursday that Pirates of the Caribbean will replace the auction scene in which women are sold off as brides with an auction for plundered goods.

New concept artwork released by Disney showed that the sign which read “AUCTION” and “Take a wench for a bride” will soon feature the words: “AUCTION” and “SURRENDER YER LOOT.”

    That’s not the only change.

The character known as “the redhead” ― the object of affection as the pirates shout “we wants the redhead” ― will enjoy a role reversal. Instead of being auctioned off, she will become one of the plunderers.

“Our team thought long and hard about how best to update this scene,” Kathy Mangum, a senior vice president with Disney Imagineering, said in a news release. “Given the redhead has long been a fan favorite, we wanted to keep her as a pivotal part of the story, so we made her a plundering pirate!”

Here’s a closer look at her new role:

    Pirates Red Head

The latest changes received mixed reviews from the Disney fan community. Many weren’t thrilled to see alterations to a scene that had been part of the ride since the first version opened at Disneyland 50 years ago.  How do you feel about the removal?
