  • Disney World Resumes Theme Park Ticket Sales and Disney Resort Hotel Bookings

Disney World Resumes Theme Park Ticket Sales and Disney Resort Hotel Bookings

Beginning today, Disney World has resumed ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel bookings for 2020.

Guests are now able to purchase new tickets and plan future visits throughout this year with the Disney Park Pass system, which they are using to help manage attendance during this reopening period.

Disney World had temporarily paused 2020 ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel bookings so they could focus on helping existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders plan their visits with the new Disney Park Pass theme park reservation system.

Disney’s Florida theme parks have been closed since March 15 because of the coronavirus pandemic, but Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom open for business July 11; Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopen July 15.

For those looking to make their plans right away, please note that tickets and Disney Resort hotel bookings may be released at different times throughout the day tomorrow. In addition, we will use virtual waiting rooms as needed to manage the high volume of guests looking to plan their visits.

All guests with valid admission are required to make a reservation in advance for each park entry, so be sure to check the park reservation availability calendar before purchasing any new tickets and then go directly to DisneyWorld.com/DisneyParkPass after your purchase to make your park reservations. Reservations are limited and subject to availability. Please note that, during this phased reopening, some tickets, ticket options and Disney Resort hotels are unavailable, but there are still a variety of options to choose from.

Though the experience may be different than the last time you visited, there is so much to look forward to, with many favorite attractions and dozens of entertainment offerings, including special new character cavalcades and the Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

  • Online Check-In Now Required for Walt Disney World Resort Vacations

Online Check-In Now Required for Walt Disney World Resort Vacations

Changes at Disney World due to the coronavirus pandemic are inevitable and it seems Disney is already getting a head start maintaining social distancing once they reopen by now requiring resort check-ins to be done online.

Many guests have seen that their Disney World reservation on The Disney World app it now says, “Now Required: Complete Online Check-in, then go direct to room on arrival.”

Nothing has been confirmed by Disney, but it’s clear this is one of the changes people can expect. One guest took to Twitter with a screen shot of the new policy as you can see in the post below:

Reopening Florida’s theme parks, among the world’s most visited attractions and one of the state’s biggest economic engines, could be a long process fraught with logistical and public health considerations.

Visitors should brace themselves for alterations, for everything from how to buy admission tickets to spread-out seating arrangements aboard park rides and in restaurants.

Though it is not clear when Walt Disney World theme parks will reopen in Orlando, Florida, as the coronavirus has shut down most nonessential businesses, Disney Executive Chairman Bob Iger says he has a plan in mind that may include temperature checks.

“One of the things that we’re discussing already is that in order to return to some semblance of normal, people will have to feel comfortable that they’re safe. Some of that could come in the form ultimately of a vaccine, but in the absence of that it could come from basically, more scrutiny, more restrictions,” Iger explained in an interview.

Disney parks in the United States, Disney World and Disneyland, are still closed indefinitely and have no set reopening date. Disney recently furloughed 100,000 theme park and hotel workers amid the coronavirus shutdown.

Woman Jumps to Her Death from Disney World Resort in Suspected Suicide

Rumours on social media claimed a guest had been seen falling from an unknown floor  – but deputies received reports at around 4pm EST that someone “may have jumped from the building”.

Deputies found the woman, who was unresponsive and pronounced dead on scene, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said. No other details were released.

  • Strawberry Hibiscus Mimosa is All the Buzz at Disney World

Strawberry Hibiscus Mimosa is All the Buzz at Disney World

If you like a good mimosa with breakfast then you’ll love the Strawberry Hibiscus Mimosa available at Ale & Compass Restaurant located in Disney’s Yacht Club Resort at Disney World.

On the menu its known as Agua Fresca Libation and it’s made with Paul Cheneau Cava with Agua Fresca Strawberry and Hibiscus and costs $12.

This hidden gem has been on the menu since Ale & Compass Restaurant opened in 2017 and it goes great with the amazing breakfast buffet offered at the restaurant. Take a look below for a break down of the ingredients and a close look at the buffet:

Agua Fresca: A sweet and refreshing fruit drink made with only 4 ingredients. A refreshing blend of strawberries, water, sugar, and lime juice is a great light alternative to the traditional orange juice made mimosa.

Paul Cheneau Cava: The sparkling Cava actually comes from Spain, however, the name fits, as it is surprisingly champagne-like. A fine pale yellow in color, with golden highlights, it offers complex yellow and spice fruit, along with pinpoint bubbles and subtle biscuity notes. For the money, Paul Cheneau can’t be beat.

The New England-inspired eatery boasts a seafood-focused menu however, guests can find a number of additional non-seafood options as you can see below:

At Ale & Compass Restaurant you can drop anchor for Eastern Seaboard eats that the whole crew will love and start the day with hearty breakfast dishes—including omelets, dark chocolate waffle, salted caramel-apple French toast or a protein bowl. Or, enjoy lighter fare, like fruit smoothies.

  • BREAKING: Bus Service to Hollywood Studios and Epcot Reduced Due to Disney Skyliner

BREAKING: Bus Service to Hollywood Studios and Epcot Reduced Due to Disney Skyliner

Disney Skyliner has proven to be a massive success and has prompted Disney to reduce bus service to Hollywood Studios and Epcot at Pop Century Resort and is encouraging guests to ride the Skyliner starting today.

Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort which also have Skyliner access have not altered their bus schedules as of yet.

Signs have been posted around Disney’s Pop Century Resort advising guests that buses traveling to Epcot and Hollywood Studios will only depart once an hour as you can see in the post below:

Bus service to Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are unaffected by the change.

Disney Skyliner’s current schedule will remain unaltered, but this change now makes Disney Skyliner the preferred mode of transportation between Pop Century and Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

  • Pull Down Bed Falls On Guest at Disney’s Riviera Resort Grand Opening

Pull Down Bed Falls On Guest at Disney’s Riviera Resort Grand Opening

One family staying at the newly opened Disney’s Riviera Resort received a rude awakening when the pull down “murphy” bed collapsed on a guest while they were sleeping.

Hayley Ashby, her sister and her mother were staying at the new resort when the incident happened. “Me and my sister had to struggle to lift up the bed to have her be able to roll out from underneath the bed,” Ashby said. “Luckily, only a few bumps & scrapes, but we are definitely shaken up.”

Ashby and her sister had to struggle to lift up the bed off of their mother so that the woman could roll out from underneath it. As you can see in the picture below that Ashby shared on Facebook, it seems like it was no easy task:

Managers at Disney’s Riviera Resort, then went from room to room posting a note on trundle beds instructing guests not to use them.

    The warning reads:

“We apologize for the inconvenience. This trundle bed is out of order and for your safety, it cannot be used at this time.

We want to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. If you have planned to use this bed, please contact the Front Desk so alternative arrangements can be provided.”

Ashby has said that Disney Riviera was very accommodating and gave them a new upgraded room. Her mother was still in neck & back pain and plans to follow up with a doctor.
