CONFIRMED: Disney Has No Plans to Launch Airline in the US

Rumors that Disney plans to launch a domestic airline in the U.S. recently surfaced online and The Walt Disney company has confirmed that the reports are false.

We reached out to The Walt Disney Company about the possibility of a new Disney Airline and a Disney spokesperson stated there are no plans to do so.

“There is no truth to this rumor,” Stephanie Christine Corzett, Director of External Communications and Media Relations, told us in a statement.

Several media news sites picked up the rumor after a Disney fan site reported that the company has plans to acquire small regional airlines in 2021 to launch its own domestic airline.

The Disney fan site reported, “Disney songs will be played over the airplane’s speakers as you board. There are also discussions that characters will also be making appearances before the cabin doors are closed to send you on your way. Buzz Lightyear, will have a heavy presence as your ‘captain speaking’.”

The original post appears to be deleted from the the Disney fan site, but still several large media outlets are reporting on the rumor.

  • Beauty and the Beast Bar Replacing Mizner’s Lounge at Grand Floridian

Beauty and the Beast Bar Replacing Mizner’s Lounge at Grand Floridian

Mizner’s Lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is set to close in April for refurbishment and according to multiple online sources the location will be re-themed as a Beauty and the Beast Lounge.

According to @SchuckJH on twitter the area will be re-imagined as a live-action version of the Beauty and the Beast film and could involve not just a simple overlay, but a total transformation like the Snow White-themed Storybook Dining at Artist Point recently was.

If the rumors are true, Mizner’s Lounge will transformed into various settings from the Beast’s Castle. Some of the themes rooms will include the library, the ballroom, and the outside patio will be transformed in the woods from outside the Beast’s castle.

Apperantly “The Library” will have plush couches and a fireplace where current bar sits. “The Ballroom” will have a chandelier. “The Woods” will have indoor/outdoor seating. Around 140 seats total.

As with all rumors, take it with a grain of salt. Nothing is official until Disney announces it.

  • CONFIRMED: Kevin Hart Will NOT be Voicing Mushu in Live-Action ‘Mulan’ Remake

CONFIRMED: Kevin Hart Will NOT be Voicing Mushu in Live-Action ‘Mulan’ Remake

We recently reported on the rumors surrounding the possibility of Kevin Hart voicing the role of Mushu in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of Mulan. We can now confirm this is not accurate and the rumors are false.

The rumor quickly gained steam last week spreading across multiple online outlets. The rumor, first reported by The DisInsider, claimed that Disney was looking to get Kevin Hart to voice the character. The website said according to “multiple sources” that Hart was the House of Mouse’s top choice to star as Mulan’s sassy sidekick.

We had a chance to speak to folks at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and according to press team member Melissa Mckeon, this is simply not true. “This is 100% inaccurate information,” according to Mckeon. “Kevin Hart will not be playing Mushu.”

Thus far, Mushu has not appeared in any official information about the live-action film yet and it is still unclear if the character has any voice at all or if he even makes any appearance in the film.

“Mulan” is directed by Niki Caro (Whale RiderMcFarland USA) from a screenplay by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Jurassic WorldIn the Heart of the Sea) and Elizabeth Martin & Lauren Hynek based on the narrative poem The Ballad of Mulan. The producers are Jason T. Reed (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Chris Bender (A History of Violence) and Jake Weiner (Criminal) with Barrie M. Osborne (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King), Bill Kong (Crouching Tiger, Hidden DragonMonster Hunt) and Tim Coddington (Crazy Rich Asians) serving as executive producers.

Disney’s Mulan is set to hit theaters on March 27, 2020.
