  • No Super Bowl Parade this year at Walt Disney World

No Super Bowl Parade this year at Walt Disney World

Disney World will not host its annual Super Bowl parade at the Magic Kingdom this year.

The parade, which has traditionally been held the day after the Super Bowl, is not happening this year due to COVID-19. The virus has also kept Disney from holding other parades and events that would lead to people being bunched into the same area.

One tradition will remain. Disney said it will feature the Super Bowl star player in the iconic “I’m Going to Disney World!” commercial on Sunday night after the game.

This year’s commercial will be the latest installment in a long-running Super Bowl tradition created by Disney in 1987 when New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms first appeared in the commercial following the team’s Super Bowl victory. Since then, the commercial has featured some of the biggest names in Super Bowl history

”Disney Parks hopes to be able to bring back our other Super Bowl traditions next year, including letting football and Disney fans see and cheer on their favorite player in the park,” Disney Parks blog said.

  • Disney World will Still Require Masks for Vaccinated Guests

Disney World will Still Require Masks for Vaccinated Guests

Friday, Disney World updated its mask policy to specify that guests who have received the COVID-19 vaccine are still required to wear a mask.

“Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) and Cast Members, including those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine,” Disney World’s website now states.

“Please bring your own face coverings and wear them at all times, except when dining or swimming,” the website reads. “You may remove your face covering while actively eating or drinking, but you must be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing.”

The theme park’s requirement is in line with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance, which states that people who have gotten two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, whether from Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, still need to avoid close contact with others and wear a mask.

The vaccine helps protect the patient from getting COVID-19, but it is not yet clear whether vaccination will protect people from spreading the virus that causes COVID-19 to other people, according to the CDC.

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Disney World could be getting new characters including a few from the hit Disney+ series The Madalorian.

Currently Galaxy’s Edge is centered on the events and characters from the sequel trilogy, but it looks like Disney is ready to expand the experience to include other characters.

Hill states that The Mandalorian, The Child, and characters like Boba Fett and Bo Katan, could soon make appearances at Black Spire Outpost on the planet of Batuu.

Hill also indicated that Kylo Ren’s ship could be replaced by Mando’s ship. the Razor Crest. Regardless of the ship’s destruction in The Mandalorian season 2, the Razor Crest was also a key part of the show.

The 14-acre Star Wars-themed land can be found at both Disneyland Park at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Although the Disneyland version remains closed pending Disneyland Resort’s reopening following its pandemic-related closure, Disney World’s version of Galaxy’s Edge has been open — at limited capacity and with a variety of health and safety protocols — since July.
