    New Octopus Garnished Cocktail at Disney World is all the Buzz

    A new cocktail, called Squids Revenge Drink, has debuted at Be Our Guest restaurant inside Magic Kingdom Park as part ofDisney World’s 50th anniversary celebration.

    It’s Disney’s take on a michelada, which is kinda like a bloody mary, but its mixed with beer instead of vodka.

    The Mexican beverage made with beer, lime, tomato juice and spices and this one is rimmed with blue salt and garnished with a gigantic charred octopus tentacle.. 

    Squid’s Revenge was designed as a nod to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage, a submarine ride through a lagoon filled with sea life and mermaids that opened at Magic Kingdom in 1971 and ran for more than 20 years.

    If you’re looking for that classic cup of hot cocoa to go with those cookies, then you’re in luck! Guests over the age of 21 can now warm up with a special array of alchohol infused hot chocolate beverages at Hollywood Studios in Disney World.

    They feature three hot cocoas, each one mixed with either Stoli Vanil Vodka, Red Stag by Jim Beam, or Baileys Irish Cream.

    They’re served in clear mini mugs with a matching tray and they’re all topped with whipped cream as you can see below:

    You can order one of these dreamy flights at ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, and Hollywood Scoops for $13 plus tax.

    The Paddlefish restaurant in Disney Springs now offers the viral-sensation Buzz Pop Cocktails, a mature take on the nostalgic treats of our childhood. These alcoholic push-pops come in eight flavors, made with fresh fruit and rum, and they contain an impressive 15 percent ABV. They’re also vegan, gluten and fat-free, net 5 carbs and under 100 calories each?

    Since opening day, Magic Kingdom was the only park that did not serve alcohol, but that all changed when Be Our Guest Restaurant opened in 2012. Originally the restaurant only offered alcohol during their table service dinner times, but now Be Our Guest is expanding its alcohol service to Breakfast and Lunch.

    With the opening of New Fantasyland’s signature restaurant, beer and wine were introduced into the Magic Kingdom. Since that time, alcohol service has been expanded to all table service restaurants in the park

    The breakfast beverage menu is still limited, but it now includes Mimosas and Bellinis!! Take a look at the full offerings below:

    When it comes to breakfast and lunch, the Guests rule! You order from a touch-screen terminal and soon your food will magically appear at your table. For cash orders or special dietary requests, Cast Members are also available to assist you.

    Alcohol Now Served at All Table Service Restaurants in Magic Kingdom

    Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World was alcohol free since it opened in 1971, until Be Our Guest restaurant opened in 2012.  Several more locations began selling alcohol after the seal had been broken and now all of the Table service restaurants in the park all sell alcohol.

    After Be Our Guest opened the taps other restaurants followed not too long after. In 2016 four other restaurants four more restaurants were added to the list including, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Liberty Tree Tavern, Skipper’s Canteen and Tony’s Town Square.

    Then, not to be out done, just last week The Crystal Palace and The Plaza Restaurant joined the list of table service restaurants in Magic Kingdom to serve alcohol. It seems Disney has completely lifted their self-imposed Magic Kingdom prohibition with a total of eight restaurants that now serve alcoholic beverages.

    Here is a complete list of all eight restaurants where guests aged 21 and over can now enjoy a glass or wine or beer.

    • Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen – Beer, Red/White Wine, Home Made Spiced Sangria, Jungle Navigation Shandy
    • The Crystal Palace – Beer, Hard Cider, Red/White Wine, Mimosas
    • The Diamond Horseshoe – Beer, Red/White wine
    • Liberty Tree Tavern – Red/White Wine, Sparkling Wine Cocktail, Beer, Hard Cider
    • The Plaza Restaurant – Beer, Red/ White Wine, Sangria, Sparkling Wine
    • Be Our Guest – Beer, Red/White Wine, Sparkling Wine
    • Tony’sTown Square Restaurant – Beer, Red/White Wine
    • Cinderella’s Royal Table – Specialty Wine Cocktails,Mimosa with Paul Cheneau Lady of Spain Cava and Orange Juice, Bellini with Canella Prosecco and Peach Juice, Beso del Sol Sangria,Champagne & Sparkling Wine, Red/White Wine, Beer

    Selections vary by restaurant but include drinks like beer, wine, ciders, mimosas, and sangria. According to Disney, these beverages have been specially selected for each restaurant’s unique menu.

    Alcoholic Beverages Now Included In 2018 Disney Dining Plan

    Alcoholic Beverages are now offered with the Disney Dining plan and you don’t need to add any additional packages to get them. This long-awaited perk now gives adult guests the option of getting an alcoholic beverage on the dining plan, but the prices for the packages have gone up a little to compensate.

    New for 2018 vacation packages, guests have several new beverage options available.

    Guests 21 and older can can choose either one non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered) or one single serving mixed cocktail, beer, or wine (where offered) within their meal entitlement. There are also new beverage options available to guests of all ages.  You can also choose one non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered).

    Single-serving non-alcoholic beverage includes items such as:

    • Artisanal Milkshakes
    • Fresh Smoothies
    • Premium Hot Chocolate
    • Soda, Coffee or Tea

    Single-serving alcoholic beverage includes items such as:

    • Beer or Cider
    • Wine or Sangria
    • Mixed Drinks and Specialty Cocktails

    Most beer, wine and mixed drink beverages included, some exceptions apply. Guests must be age 21 or older and present valid ID to be served alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages may only be redeemed with a Quick-Service or Table-Service meal entitlement. Meaning you can’t just walk up to a bar and use a credit of a drink.  It would be selected as your drink choice when you are ordering a meal.
