Toy Story Mania FastPasses Will Not Be Available for a Month Starting April 9

As we reported back in january, the third track of Toy Story Mania was closed to accommodate the ride’s new entrance into the new land. This caused increased wait times and now Stand-by lines are about to get a little longer as the attraction will stop offering fastpasses for a brief time.

As the park makes final preparations for the grand opening of Toy Story Land, guests will not be able to book FastPass+ for the attraction from April 9th through May 7th. Guests will be able to use the stand-by que during this time.

So if you want to get on the ride you may want to be first in line. Disney has announced the highly-anticipated toy-filled land inspired by the beloved “Toy Story” films, will open to guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios June 30, 2018.

RUMOR: Talking Mickey Maybe Leaving Magic Kingdom Soon

The Talking Mickey Mouse Meet and Greet at Town Square Theater in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World may be getting the silent treatment if rumors are true.  Talking Mickey may be removed from the attraction according to cast members who are familiar with the issue.

According to a report from wdwinfo, the Main Street U.S.A. attraction closing as early as this May, stating, ‘this is a cost saving move’.  After an overhaul of the attraction, it is expected that Mickey will return, but without the ability to talk. The attraction has suffered from technical difficulties in the past and it’s unclear if that may have anything to do with the possible decision. The report also indicated that some guests have been confused as to why Mickey Mouse can talk in one location, but not in others.

As always, you have to take internet rumors with a grain of salt.  This one seems strange since Disney was just testing out a talking Donald and a talking Minnie to go along with the talking Mickey in Disney’s California Adventure in September. The attraction has been well received by guests and the technology has a long history that doesn’t likely end here regardless of what ends up happening with this particular attraction.

If you’ve never seen Talking Mickey you can check him out in the video below.

I for one hope the rumors are not true.  We love getting to personally interact with Mickey. So if you haven’t had a chance to talk to the main mouse personally, make sure you get there while there is still time.

The third track opened for Toy Story Mania in May of 2016, which helped alleviate the long longs for the ride. However, the third track is now closed as of Jan. 3, 2018, and it will most likely remain that way until Toy Story Land is ready to open.

The lines will be longer for the time being, but a Disney spokesperson said, the ride is still fully operational.

To accommodate the ride’s new entrance into the new land, some changes are being made, as you can see in display model.

    Toy Story Land

It’s not just the one track that will be closed. You can expect the ride will fully close in the next few weeks to make the final preparations and for the grand opening. No dates have been set for that as of yet.

In this new land guests will shrink to the size of a toy so they are able to explore Andy’s backyard, which is filled with toys from the “Toy Story” films.

The 11-acre land will be themed around toys from the “Toy Story” movie series, like the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster and Woody’s Lunch Box, a quick-service window serving soda floats and more. Another ride will be Alien Swirling Saucers, where aliens circling in flying saucers pull along rocket ships full of guests.

UPDATE: Magic Kingdom Now Re-Open to All Guests

After closing to some guests earlier today, Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is once again open to all guests.

In their most recent Twitter update, Disney said, “As of 5:30pm Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park are available to all Guests.”

Magic Kingdom was temporarily closed at 11:30am today.  It was a Phase B closure which means no admission of guests with one day tickets, and no re-entering or crossing over from another park unless they are staying on property, have an annual pass and a few other exceptions.

Guests will again start pouring in to ring in the new year so don’t be surprised if there is another closure before the night is through. Or in this case before the year is through.
