    Today, Disney revealed the runDisney finisher medals for the 2019 Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World, so lace up your sneakers and get ready for the most magical race weekend on Earth during the 2019 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna!

    With a new friend joining, new “bling” and lots of exciting surprises and entertainment, now more than ever is the time to join runDisney for their biggest race weekend of the season! Here is a first look at this year’s finisher medals:

    New to this year, luck will be on your side for the Walt Disney World 5K as Oswald the Lucky Rabbit makes his race debut! Participants can look forward to picking up this finisher medal which prominently features the classic Disney character.

Whether you’re feeling Goofy for 39.3 miles or Dopey for 48.6, runners taking on one of the weekend’s challenges will earn this extra “bling.” For some added magic, this year’s medal for Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge features our favorite Goof in “spinning” form! Celebrating its 5th anniversary, Disney Castaway Cay Challenge returns for runners who want to accomplish the ultimate running adventure when they set sail with Disney Cruise Line.

    Exciting news for the runDisney Kids Races: Beginning in 2019, participants in the runDisney Kids Dashes and One Mile Run will earn a unique medallion for each event! This year’s designs feature your pals Mickey and Pluto.

    DIY Cinderella-Inspired Style for the 2018 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

    Just one more week until the royal celebration kicks off for the 10th Anniversary 2018 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and if the shoe fits … run in it!

    Taking inspiration from Cinderella’s classic ball gown, make it to the finish line before the stroke of midnight with this regal ensemble. With the wave of the Fairy Godmother’s wand, Disney paired a light blue athletic shirt with black running capris from Champion. Sturdier than a glass slipper, complete the look with a pair of silver running shoes that you’ll be sure not to lose.     Want to add a royal finishing touch to your running shoes? Here is what you need:

    Cinderella Crown Shoe Decoration

    Supplies:

    • Silver Glitter Craft Foam
    • Grey Craft Foam
    • Lace Detail
    • Silver Glitter Glue
    • Spray Adhesive

    Directions:

    1. Using a pencil and scissors, trace and cut the shape of the crown for the foam and lace pieces.
    2. Using the spray adhesive, attach the two pieces of foam and adhere the lace detailing.
    3. Add extra sparkle with detailing from the Glitter Glue.
    4. Cut two slits based on your running shoes and attach fasteners to allow sneaker laces to weave through the decoration.
    5. Weave laces through your crown decoration and off to the ball you go!

    It’s a fairy tale weekend full of memories as you join the Disney Princesses for an amazing run on the most magical course on Earth. Don’t be late to the ball with this Cinderella-inspired look even Fairy Godmother would approve of.
