  • Disney Animatronic’s Hand Falls Off Mid-Show at Magic Kingdom

Disney Animatronic’s Hand Falls Off Mid-Show at Magic Kingdom

An animatronic character of Disney World’s Carousel of Progress attraction reportedly had its hand fall off in the middle of the show according to a recent Reddit post.

“John’s hand fell off during our show,” anonymous user ColtsMcgree wrote alongside a photo of the animatronic — named “John” — missing his right hand during the 1900s portion of the rotating theater attraction.

In the photo listed as “not suitable for work”, the animatronic figure’s hand can be seen off to the right of him, on the floor as you can see in the post below:

No other technical issues were reported by the visitor, but this isn’t the first time something has gone awry at the Carousel of Progress in recent months. Back in December, a guest had to be dragged off after they climbed onto the stage and damaged one of the props before lying down on stage.

  • Baby Zebra Born at Walt Disney World Resort

Baby Zebra Born at Walt Disney World Resort

The folks over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom are seeing stripes today!  The park has just announced the birth of a Hartmann’s zebra foal.

On Jan. 21, the yet-to-be-named Hartmann’s zebra foal was born to mom Prima under the care of the West Savanna team. This moment marks a milestone for the park as it is the first time this vulnerable zebra species has been born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Weighing in at about 65 pounds, the foal was standing and walking within 30 minutes of birth.

This little one is doing well and bonding backstage with his mom. Much of the time, he is nursing, napping and starting to play and explore his mom’s hay. When he’s ready, he will be introduced in stages to the other zebras and then join the herd as they go out onto the savanna.

These zebra births mark another success for Disney’s animal care experts and the Species Survival Plan, a program through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums that helps ensure a diverse, healthy population of threatened and endangered species.

  • Strawberry Hibiscus Mimosa is All the Buzz at Disney World

Strawberry Hibiscus Mimosa is All the Buzz at Disney World

If you like a good mimosa with breakfast then you’ll love the Strawberry Hibiscus Mimosa available at Ale & Compass Restaurant located in Disney’s Yacht Club Resort at Disney World.

On the menu its known as Agua Fresca Libation and it’s made with Paul Cheneau Cava with Agua Fresca Strawberry and Hibiscus and costs $12.

This hidden gem has been on the menu since Ale & Compass Restaurant opened in 2017 and it goes great with the amazing breakfast buffet offered at the restaurant. Take a look below for a break down of the ingredients and a close look at the buffet:

Agua Fresca: A sweet and refreshing fruit drink made with only 4 ingredients. A refreshing blend of strawberries, water, sugar, and lime juice is a great light alternative to the traditional orange juice made mimosa.

Paul Cheneau Cava: The sparkling Cava actually comes from Spain, however, the name fits, as it is surprisingly champagne-like. A fine pale yellow in color, with golden highlights, it offers complex yellow and spice fruit, along with pinpoint bubbles and subtle biscuity notes. For the money, Paul Cheneau can’t be beat.

The New England-inspired eatery boasts a seafood-focused menu however, guests can find a number of additional non-seafood options as you can see below:

At Ale & Compass Restaurant you can drop anchor for Eastern Seaboard eats that the whole crew will love and start the day with hearty breakfast dishes—including omelets, dark chocolate waffle, salted caramel-apple French toast or a protein bowl. Or, enjoy lighter fare, like fruit smoothies.
