From Super Heroes to an intergalactic concert, from eye-popping shows to a nighttime beach party to get your glow on, from new reasons to love Disney Springs to an all-new land where toys reign supreme, there’s only one way to describe summer 2018 at Walt Disney World Resort. Incredible! This summer, beloved stories from several Pixar films will come to life bringing new experiences to all four parks!

When Disney kicks off its Incredible Summer over Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27, guests will kick up their sandals to nonstop fun, immersed in favorite Disney films, entering the worlds of beloved characters and experiencing exciting new attractions and entertainment.

And, with the addition of a nighttime party at Typhoon Lagoon, this summer will be even more incredible.

At Magic Kingdom Park from May 25 through Sept. 3, favorite Disney•Pixar Super Heroes will take over Tomorrowland with the premiere of the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo that celebrates all things super. Guests will interact with Mr. Incredible, Frozone and other characters from Disney•Pixar’s “The Incredibles” and upcoming “Incredibles 2.” And, for the first time ever, guests will get to see Edna Mode, the world’s greatest costume designer for the Supers. Tomorrowland gets decked out for this Supers celebration with Incredibles décor and the sounds of incredible music. High-energy fun builds to a “SUPER” dance party on the Rocket Tower Stage. “Incredibles 2” opens in theaters nationwide June 15.

There will be more Super Hero action at Epcot where Star-Lord and Gamora, from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies, take guests on a musical journey through the cosmos. The Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! concert series will feature hits from Star-Lord’s Awesome Mixtapes – fun and favorite tunes from the two movie soundtracks. There will be five show times daily, running June 9 through Aug. 19.

This summer, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating its 20th anniversary with two super new experiences:

    • UP! A Great Bird Adventure premieres April 22, Earth Day, coinciding with the start of the park’s 20th anniversary celebration. The show features Senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and his furry friend Dug, from the Disney•Pixar animated film “UP,” as they discover bird species from around the world.
    • Donald’s Dino-Bash!, which opens Memorial Day Weekend, is a “dino-tastic” celebration where Donald Duck takes over Dinoland U.S.A. The world’s most famous duck is celebrating his recent discovery that ducks are descendants of dinosaurs. He’s brought along feathered friends Scrooge McDuck and Launchpad McQuack, plus other Disney characters to meet guests. In addition to bringing his own decorating touch to the land, Donald puts on a nightly dance party where everyone can shake their tail feathers. The dance party is the newest addition to the lineup of after-dark entertainment that keeps the fun going past sundown at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

In addition to the fun new entertainment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can still thrill to the park’s newest land, Pandora – The World of AvatarThere they can experience Avatar Flight of Passage, which quickly became the top-rated attraction at Walt Disney World.

New Nighttime Fun at Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Just announced, Rex and his “Toy Story” pals will be throwing a glow party bigger and better than ever at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. Disney H2O Glow Nights will transform the water park like never before. Guests will experience two new attractions. Slinky Dog Dash is a family-friendly coaster that will send riders dipping, dodging and dashing around turns and drops that Andy has created to stretch Slinky and his coils to the max. “Toy Story” pals also come to life in another fresh-from-the-box themed attraction – Alien Swirling Saucers. This Pizza Planet toy play set is loaded with aliens circling about in their flying saucers pulling along rocket ships full of guests. The new land will also encompass Toy Story Mania!  Already one of the most popular attractions, it will feature a brand-new entrance designed to look like a play set filled with carnival games.  Woody’s Lunch Box will be a new quick-service kiosk serving tasty meals and old-fashioned soda floats inside Toy Story Land.

Immersive New Pixar Character Experience for Children

Credit Card Fraud Operation Broken Up On Disney World Property

A man suspected in a credit card fraud operation was arrested, while staying on Disney World property, by the Secret Service with the help of Walt Disney World security.

A credit card that had been used to check into a room at Art of Animation had been flagged after multiple transactions on the card were noticed by Disney security according to a report by WFTV. “Agents found around $5,000 in fraudulent purchases had been made on the one card.” the report says.

After checking in for a two-week stay, excessive purchases made on the card in the Disney Spring’s area were noticed by Disney Security and they went to the room to investigate.

The Disney security team went to the room in the “Cars” area of the resort, entering the room when no one answered, according to the Secret Service. Once inside the room they found numerous credit cards prompting them to call the Secret Service.

While investigators were still in the room, four men from Brazil showed up. Agents found a card encoder in the room and multiple credit cards inside luggage belonging to a guest named Fabio Valdarnini.

The guest was arrested and now investigators will try to track down where the men have been and if there are any other victims. Valdarnini is currently being held in the Orange County jail.

  • Logo for Disney World’s Club 33 Revealed

Logo for Disney World’s Club 33 Revealed

Walt Disney World is getting its own version of Club 33, Disneyland’s famously exclusive members-only posh hideaway and it appears the official logo has made its way to the internet.

Membership sales are expected to go on sale to the general public soon, but residents of Walt Disney World’s upscale community Golden Oak are already able to apply for membership for the Walt Disney World version of the secret club.

The cost of registration is $25,000 with annual dues of $15,000. The photo below posted on twitter shows another look at the new logo.

The original Club 33 was originally intended as a hideaway for Walt Disney to host elite park guests. The private club is hidden at the top of a staircase in New Orleans Square at Disneyland. When he was working with various corporate promoters for his attractions at the 1964–1965 New York World’s Fair, he noticed the various “VIP Lounges” provided as accommodation for the corporate elite. This gave him the idea that culminated in Club 33. When New Orleans Square was planned, this special area for corporate sponsors and VIPs was included.

While Club 33 was originally intended for exclusive use by Disneyland’s corporate sponsors and other industry VIPs, when it opened on June 15, 1967, six months after Disney’s death, individual memberships were also offered.

It’s not exactly clear what benefits members of the club will receive at Walt Disney World, but Disneyland members get quite a few. Club 33 members and their guests have exclusive access to resort experiences, which vary depending on type of membership. In addition to the clubs restaurant, access may also include Le Salon Nouveau, a jazz lounge within New Orleans Square, and 1901, a lounge in Disney California Adventure; neither are open to the public. Club 33 is the only location within Disneyland Park to offer alcoholic beverages.

Club 33 Members designate themselves and/or others to receive Premier Passports valid for Disneyland and Walt Disney World. In addition, their Club 33 membership card grants them access to early park admission, as long as they and up to three accompanying guests have an accompanying annual pass or valid day ticket. Members are entitled to complimentary valet parking at the Disneyland Resort Hotels and access to many private and exclusive events held within the Club 33 restaurant and Le Salon Nouveau, throughout the Disneyland Resort, and a select number of experiences in destinations outside of Disneyland.

For the price tag you can bet the exclusive membership at Walt Disney World will surely come with quite a few perks.

There are plans to put a Club 33 outpost in each of Disney World’s four Orlando theme parks, each with its own unique look. Including Disneyland the club has three locations already with similar sites in Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland.

  • Rumor: New Name For Hollywood Studios Has Been Decided

Rumor: New Name For Hollywood Studios Has Been Decided

Disney may have finally settled on a new name for Disney Hollywood Studios.  Several “Disney insiders” have reported that Disney has chosen “Disney Cinemagine Park” as the new name for the park. The possible new name isn’t one of the more popular choices, but here’s what we know so far.

Rumors of a name change for Disney’s Hollywood studios have been swirling around since Disney CEO Bob Iger, not so subtly, hinted about it at a shareholder meeting back in 2015.

“It’s not announced. We used to be MGM Studios, we changed to Hollywood Studios and we’re doing some significant work there right now that I guess will result in a name change,” Iger said at the meeting. “We’ll announce that we’re changing the name, but we won’t announce what we’re changing it to. How’s that?” he continued.

With the new direction the park is heading the idea of a name change wasn’t that far-fetched. There wasn’t really any more news on the topic until reports surfaced back in August that several Disney fans had received a survey asking their opinions of several potential new names for the park. Here is a list of the names they had to ponder:

    • Disney Kaleidoscope Park
    • Disney Storyverse Park
    • Disney Hyperia Park
    • Disney Beyond Park
    • Disney Cinemagic Park
    • Disney Legends Park
    • Disney XL Park
    • Disney Cinemagine Park

Now the rumor mills are in full swing again with reports that the company has decided on “Disney Cinemagine Park” as the new name for Disney-MGM 3.0. Co Author of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World Len Testa, posted on the WDWMagic forums about the change. “I also hear that Disney has settled on ‘Disney Cinemagine Park’ for the DHS rename.”

We should point out that Len Testa and his podcast co-host Jim Hill both were among those who said Disney had decided on “Hollywood Adventure” as the name before the surveys were passed out. Quite frankly I still hope that is true.  Too bad it wasn’t on the survey.

Already many fans are not happy with the new possibility, and are complaining that its hard to pronounce and to spell. There are just as many changes happening at Hollywood Studios as there are rumors, and nothing is official until Disney says it is. So like all rumors, take it for what it’s worth.

For now we’ll hope it’s just a rumor, but a name change is most certainly coming.  Many speculating that change will come before the opening of Galaxy’s Edge or at least right after. Regardless, we should see the name change within the next three years.

  • Disney Minnie Van Service Expanding to Orlando International Airport

Disney Minnie Van Service Expanding to Orlando International Airport

Walt Disney World’s popular Minnie Van Service will now be offering transportation to Orlando International Airport. The polka-dotted transportation option currently transports guests to locations on property.

Through a collaboration with the rideshare service, Lyft, guests at select resorts can arrange their own private Disney vehicle right from the Lyft app on their smartphone. With Minnie Van service, Disney cast members will then pick you up and take you to wherever you want to be at Walt Disney World Resort.

Well now you can end your vacation in Disney Style to grab that one last bit off magic before you hit the sad flight home. But it will run you $150 bucks. Currently point-to-point trips on Walt Disney World property cost $20.

According to fliers passed out at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, the polka-dotted service is now offering transportation services from select Disney Resorts for airline departures from 9:00am through 12:00am.

The price is steep when you think about the fact that they already have a complimentary airport bus transportation, Disney’s Magical Express, for hotel guests. Though that’s better know as the Tragical Express and perhaps riding in your own personal Minnie Van will put one last smile on your face as you bid farewell to Walt Disney World.

It does allow you to ride in privacy however and not be bound to the Magical Express schedule. This service accommodates up to six guests and provides two versatile car seats so even the tiniest of passengers can travel in style!

  • Dad Who Wore T-Shirt Asking For A Kidney to Disney World Finds A Donor

Dad Who Wore T-Shirt Asking For A Kidney to Disney World Finds A Donor

Father of five, Robert Leibowitz, was in need of a life saving organ transplant and he went to Walt Disney World in Orlando hoping for a little magic.  He turned himself into a walking billboard wearing a T-Shirt advertising his need for a kidney around the park.

Leibowitz walked around the park, for a week, wearing a T-shirt that read: “In Need of Kidney. O Positive.” The message had his cell phone number written below it and after park-goers snapped photos and videos of the shirt and shared them on social media the story quickly went viral. One post saw 90,000 shares with in the first week.
That was about 5 months ago, but he has finally found the Disney magic he was hoping for and now he has found a donor. Leibowitz, 60, had suffered from chronic kidney disease for 15 years.

Richie Sully from Fort Wayne, Indiana saw the photo and decided to take action, according to the report from WPIX.

Sully left a voicemail after calling the number saying simply, “Hi, my name is Richie. I saw your post. I have an extra kidney. I’m O-positive. You’re more than welcome to have it.”

Also a single dad, Sully who has two girls, took off from work and went to New York where he stayed in a hotel for two weeks on his own dime. He was able to meet Liebowitz and he spent time with him everyday.

“We walked around Manhattan for, like, six hours and we had sushi and he took me to Times Square and we talked about music and about being dads and things like that and really hit it off,” he said.

Thursday, Sully underwent surgery beside his new friend at New York Presbyterian Hospital according to the report.

“It’s not a big deal,” Sully said of the procedure, but for Rob Liebowitz and his family, it’s a very big deal.

“I keep saying, ‘Thank you,’” Liebowitz said. “But you can’t put into words what he did for me, so I’ll have to figure out how to do the best I can for the rest of my life.”
