  • Disneyland Horses Kick Up Their Hooves During Main Street, U.S.A. Enhancements

Disneyland Horses Kick Up Their Hooves During Main Street, U.S.A. Enhancements

The horse-drawn streetcar track on Main Street, U.S.A., will be replaced in its entirety.  This will temporarily pause the operation of all Main Street, U.S.A. vehicles, giving the Disneyland horses a little break.

They will be “on vacation” while enhancements are made on Main Street, U.S.A. Can’t you just picture these equine beauties living it up poolside, wearing sunglasses and floppy hats, cooling their hooves in a wading pool and sipping refreshing beverages from very long straws.

Turns out, a vacation for a horse is very different than a vacation for people. Take a look at this Disney Parks video to see exactly how they are spending their vacation.

In the absence of regular shifts on Main Street, U.S.A., these four-legged cast members are following their usual routines in order to keep fit—both physically and mentally. Each horse has a schedule for grooming, bathing, driving, riding and ground work. However, they do have more time for play, which is an important part of being a horse. Horses, after all, are herd animals and it’s important for their well-being that they have time to be together.

One way in which this is accomplished is through “turn-outs,” which is the horsey term for “playdates.” The horses are turned out in an enclosed arena, in groups of three or four, and they run together, kick up their heels and just move as a herd. Inevitably, each horse will find that perfect spot of ground on which to roll over and stretch their back and legs. Total relaxation, equine style. Maybe our vacations aren’t so different after all.

Disneyland’s refurbished Main Street U.S.A. is expected to reopen in late winter.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Star Dave Bautista Reunites with Groot at Disneyland Resort

A Drax and Groot reunion! It’s been a while since he has seen Groot at full size, but Dave Bautista, who stars as Drax in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, got his chance when he visited Disney California Adventure park on Tuesday.

    Dave Bautista Groot DCA

He made a special stop at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! to visit with his old friend. “I am Groot!” exclaimed Groot upon his arrival. Suffice to say it was an emotional reunion and Groot even said, “I am Groot!” as Bautista departed.

Dave also took the opportunity to explore The Collector’s Fortress and its famous collection of artifacts from throughout the galaxy. He stopped to take a closer look at Taneleer Tivan’s newest acquisitions: three Vyloos from the planet Berhert.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! is an accelerated drop tower dark ride attraction at Disney California Adventure. Based on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy film series, it depicts Rocket Raccoon recruiting guests to attempt to free the remaining Guardians of the Galaxy from display within the Collector’s fortress.

The attraction is the first major Disney attraction to be based on Marvel Comics characters within the United States. It is a retheme of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, using the same infrastructure and ride system as the previous attraction. It features several cast members from the film series reprising their roles. It opened on May 27, 2017, twenty-two days after the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

  • VIDEO: Disney Animatronic With Missing Head Gives Guests Unexpected Shock

VIDEO: Disney Animatronic With Missing Head Gives Guests Unexpected Shock

The poor unfortunate souls riding The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disneyland got an unexpected shock while on the attraction Sunday. The ride’s Ursula animatronic literally lost its head in plain sight of park guests.

You would think The Queen of Hearts had been screaming, “off with her head!” but instead a few shrill shrieks were probably heard from park-goers as the figure continued to move and sing with its head dangling.

In the words of The Sea Witch herself, “Don’t underestimate the importance of body language.” Take a look at the horrifying video below.

“Immediately after we got off we were ushered out along with everyone else, and the employees looked very concerned,” the poster wrote. “Many people had seen Ursula decapitated, including kids who understandably were upset.”

This was just one of a multitude of videos and pics of the horrifying event that have been plastered all over social media.

In an odd coincidence, this isn’t the only attraction to lose its head in recent days. Social media also was buzzing when the auctioneer from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland Paris also malfunctioned and lost his head too.

These type of malfunctions are bound to happen, but it still can be rather horrifying for the young ones even if the adults (big kids) find it a little funny. Very soon after both rides were temporarily closed for repairs.

The Happiest Place on Earth just go a little happier. Well actually Disneyland Park is still alcohol free, but the 7,300-square-foot location with a three-barrel “research and development” brewery, restaurant, and an outdoor beer garden is located right outside the park.

Ballast-Point downtown disney breweryThe San Diego-based Ballast Point, a pioneer in the craft beer industry and one of the nation’s leading craft breweries is known for high-quality, award-winning and innovative beers has been dedicated to the craft of brewing for more than 20 years.

Known for its unrelenting commitment to quality, unique flavor profiles and a desire to bring great tasting beer to consumers across the country, this will be Ballast Point’s first location in Orange County and seventh in Southern California.

“As one of Southern California’s premier brewers, for the team at Ballast Point, we couldn’t be more honored to work with such an icon in our great state and become the first brewer at Downtown Disney,” said Marty Birkel, president of Ballast Point Brewing Company. “We hope SoCal locals and visitors alike will enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, seasonal cuisine, and good cheer (and beer) of our signature tap room experience that we plan to bring to Disney.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Ballast Point to Downtown Disney,” said Patrick Finnegan, vice president of Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney. “Our guests are constantly asking for new and innovative dining experiences, and Ballast Point’s selection of award-winning beers, locally inspired cuisine and friendly atmosphere make them a perfect fit.”

Along with its beers, the restaurant’s menu will also offer a taste of San Diego with some of its most popular dishes from its brew pubs. Similar to Ballast Point’s brewing philosophy, the kitchen will only source the best possible ingredients, including steroid and antibiotic-free proteins, line-caught fish and local produce when available. The kitchen will feature a seasonally inspired menu, with a focus on cuisine that not only pairs well with the vast selection of beers, but incorporates them in the recipes. The location will also offer a children’s menu, along with gluten-free and vegetarian options for guests.

The location will be family friendly, offering an outdoor patio and large-party, cabana style seating, and visitors 21+ can enjoy many of Ballast Point’s iconic beers, as well as exclusive, custom, limited-edition beers available only at the Downtown Disney location.

The new Downtown Disney location further extends Ballast Point’s brand presence in Southern California and will introduce its quality, great-tasting beer to visitors from around the country and the world.

  • “It’s A Small World” Getting A Makeover at Disneyland

“It’s A Small World” Getting A Makeover at Disneyland

The holidays are over and Disneyland’s “it’s a small world” is about to start transitioning from the Holiday version back to the classic version, but the work doesn’t stop there.

Work will continue in the promenade in front of the attraction. The queue location is being moved – along with other enhancements, including a new parade route entrance and stroller area – allowing guests to travel through “it’s a small world” Mall with greater ease.

“it’s a small world” Mall is a popular area of Disneyland park. In addition to accessing “it’s a small world,” guests use the promenade in front of the attraction to get to Mickey’s Toontown and Fantasyland Theatre, among other offerings. The slightly adjusted parade route will make room for the attraction’s new queue, creating more space in the area.

“it’s a small world” Holiday will close on Jan. 22 and “it’s a small world” will reopen on Feb. 2. The aforementioned changes are expected to complete in spring, when “Pixar Play Parade” will step off the new parade route entrance during Pixar Fest, beginning April 13.
