The holiday season is only four weeks away and Disney had shared a little sneak peek of some of the special, new elements coming to the Disneyland Resort this year.
Some of this year’s merchandise is inspired by Mickey and Minnie’s looks that you’ll see in the park.
The upcoming holiday assortment is sure to have something for everyone – from Spirit Jerseys, to headwear, housewares and more. Take a sneak peek below at “Walt’s Holiday Lodge” collection:
The holiday season returns to the Disneyland Resort from Nov. 12, 2021 through Jan. 9, 2022. Beloved traditions including “A Christmas Fantasy” Parade, “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular, and “it’s a small world” Holiday are back at Disneyland park. And over at Disney California Adventure park, Disney Festival of Holidays celebrates multicultural traditions, Cars Land is transformed for the holidays, and so much more!
New Years Eve is one of the busiest days of the year at Disney World and as expected the park is booked to capacity as crowds descend on the most magical place on earth to ring in 2021.
Disney World increased capacity to 40% for the Holidays and all four of Walt Disney World’s parks have hit that mark for New Year’s Eve according to what Disney World’s Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar shows.
Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are no longer showing open availability, according to the calendar on the Disney World website as you can see below:
While it appears that Disney World’s four theme parks will not be open to host its usual midnight countdowns and even Magic Kingdom will close at 11 PM, according to listed park hours, there will be festive activities available at open Disney Resort Hotels.
Special events being hosted at select resorts include New Year’s Eve scavenger hunts, crafts and pre-recorded fireworks shows that are available for streaming from guest room TVs or the My Disney Experience app.
Quick-service restaurants, pool bars, lounges and merchandise stores at Disney resorts will be open after midnight. Select locations will be open until 1 a.m. at the following Disney World Resort venues:
Do you want to build a snowman? Or would you rather sing along to that totally chill tune from Frozen with a music superstar? ABC has announced its star-studded lineup for “The Disney Holiday Singalong.”
This is the third iteration in the ratings phenomenon franchise, with Ryan Seacrest returning to host the night of merry music and magic on MONDAY, NOV. 30 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST).
Celebrity performances and appearances for the festive special include Andrea Bocelli, BTS, Michael Bublé, Ciara, Chloe x Halle, Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert, Julianne Hough, Adam Lambert, Leslie Odom Jr., Katy Perry, P!NK and Kerry Washington. Additional appearances to be announced at a later date.
Grab a box of tissues as Disney on Broadway makes its heartwarming return to the New Amsterdam Theatre for the first time since March, with a sensational performance by the members from the Broadway casts of “The Lion King” and “Aladdin,” and North American Touring companies of “Frozen.” Disney Music Group’s acclaimed seven-member a cappella group DCappella also joins in for some seasonal sounds as they will carol throughout the show encouraging viewers at home to sing along. The jolly one-hour musical event will once again include animated on-screen lyrics to allow viewers at home to sing along to the beloved Disney melodies and classic holiday carols. “The Disney Holiday Singalong” performances include the following:
Andrea Bocelli – “Silent Night”

This holiday season, Disney Channel will transport the magic of Disney World during the holidays to viewers with a holiday special called Disney Holiday Magic Quest.
Disney Channel is celebrating the holidays for kids and families in some special ways this year, including bringing more holiday magic to Walt Disney World Resort! Disney Channel’s first of three holiday specials is “Disney Holiday Magic Quest,” a high-stakes challenge that navigates Magic Kingdom Park.
Raven-Symoné virtually hosts the challenge, which features “ZOMBIES 2” stars Milo Manheim, Kylee Russell, Ariel Martin, and Pearce Joza competing in a holiday adventure through Magic Kingdom Park.
After iconic Disney villains Maleficent and Evil Queen steal holiday magic, the stars must overcome obstacles and complete challenges to restore the joy of the season. The challenges take place throughout Magic Kingdom Park and include iconic attractions and locations like Haunted Mansion and Cinderella Castle.
The four stars are also competing for a grand prize that will benefit Toys for Tots, a nonprofit organization that delivers hope and the magic of the holidays to less fortunate children.
Tune in for the premiere of “Disney Holiday Magic Quest” on Disney Channel, Friday, Dec. 4 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT to see if the stars successfully restore the holiday magic throughout their Magic Kingdom Park adventure!
Disney has announced that you can once again delight in a festive yuletide projection show on The Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel this holiday season at Hollywood Studios.
After dark, the iconic Hollywood Tower Hotel on Sunset Boulevard will twinkle with projection effects as magically transforms into the Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel.
Get swept up in scenes of the season from November 6 through December 30, 2020, as The Hollywood Tower Hotel comes to holly-jolly life with continuously running, colorful projections.
Here’s a list, with locations, to help you plan your next delicious trip.
Twice Upon a Cupcake – A confetti Christmas tree tops a vanilla cupcake with a red velvet hidden Mickey (Available at Main Street Bakery Nov. 6 – Dec. 30)
Let it Snow Taco – Sugar cookie “taco shell” filled with salted caramel and spiced chocolate mousse (Available at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe Nov. 6 – Dec. 30)
An Orange Bird Christmas– Orange–scented white chocolate mousse filled with orange curd (Available at Sunshine Tree Terrace Nov. 6 – Dec. 30)
Chip and Dale Christmas Churros – Gingerbread churros topped with apple pie filling and chocolate chips (Available at Westward Ho Nov. 6 – Dec. 30)
Pistachio Chai Tea Float – Pistachio soft–serve, spiced chai tea, and a red velvet cake pop ornament (Available at Aloha Isle Nov. 6 – Dec. 30)
I tried An Orange Bird Christmas. It was sitting on top of a little sponge cake, and tasted very citrusy. It wasn’t too sweet and I really liked it!
If you’re in need of some holiday cheer, look no further, because the Holiday Magic is alive at Disney’s Magic Kingdom this year! Decorations have been hung by the castle with care and you can now find Holiday character meet & greets, cavalcade and more.
This year the fun isn’t just at an after hours Christmas Party; the holiday entertainment happens all day long. It all starts on Main Street, with the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet delivering festive harmonies, while the Main Street Philharmonic marches along with life sized toy soldiers.
There are several locations throughout the park where characters appear to “Surprise and Delight” guests. You can interact with them and take socially distanced selfies as you can see below:
Rabbit and Piglet in their Holiday scarves at The Crystal Palace
Rabbit, Piglet, and Eeyore like to hang out on the porch of The Crystal Palace.
As you’re strolling through Frontierland you might catch some characters from the Country Bear Jamboree wearing peppermint striped scarves. They love to post for the camera!
To the left of the Country Bear Jamboree is a walkway connecting Frontierland to Adventureland. This is Chip and Dale’s favorite spot to goof around.
Santa Stitch can be found making mischief on the Tomorrowland stage. While he’s taking a break for some milk and cookies you might be able to see Buzz Lightyear!
The Muppets have returned to Liberty Square. They don’t have a holiday show, but they will interact with you and take socially distanced selfies if you ask them.
The last character is also the most rare! Jiminy Cricket can be found hanging out on the balcony above Pinocchio Haus in Fantasyland. He looks so Dapper in his Holiday outfit.
I found that these character interactions still aren’t well known, and the characters don’t arrive any any set schedule. Therefore, there aren’t really lines to see them and you can get some great photos and interactions!
There are also four Character Cavalcades that make their way from Splash Mountain in Frontierland to the Fire Station on Main St. Mickey’s Holiday Cavalcade is a holiday celebration with Mickey Mouse and his friends.
Goofy’s Scrumptious Cavalcade features Goofy cooking up some holiday fun from his gingerbread house and bake shop floats, joined by dancing gingerbread men. A Royal Christmas Processional heralds the arrival of Disney princesses on a crystal castle float. Santa’s Cavalcade has all the reindeer pulling his sleigh and some silly elves dancing along behind him with presents they forgot to pack. These mini parades only run until dusk, so make sure you get to the park early if you want to see them all.
When night falls at Magic Kingdom, projection effects transform Cinderella Castle with a kaleidoscope of designs. There are four designs including a whimsical Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green and gold ornamentation. The iconic castle provides the perfect colorful background for guests seeking a magical holiday portrait.
I don’t know about you, but I am so happy the Holidays have arrived at Magic Kingdom! All of the decorations are out, I saw so many festive outfits on guests, and all the entertainment makes this such a festive time.
The holiday season is fast approaching and today a guest favorite holiday offering – Jingle Cruise – has returned to Magic Kingdom Park.
Jingle Cruise is again themed as if the Skippers are homesick for the holidays and to add cheer, they decorated the attraction queue and boathouse with homemade decorations, gifts and items from back home.
Many fans of the festive overlay to the classic attraction have already taken to the internet to share the transformation as you can see in the post below:
Boats have temporarily been renamed with holiday monikers and the Skippers are armed with seasonal jokes. (Listen carefully in the queue, too – you may hear a holiday-themed radio broadcast playing in the background).
Disney World has just announced that it will be offering extended hours for Guests to experience the magic this holiday season at all four of its theme parks.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Disney World has made several adjustments to its normal holiday plans over the past several months. While the park may not be holding its normal Christmas celebrations, it will have extended hours during the Christmas season.
According to the Disney World website, the Magic Kingdom will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. from the beginning of December until the week of Christmas. Starting on Sunday, Dec. 20, the Magic Kingdom will be open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
These hours will continue until Dec. 30. On New Year’s Eve, the park is still listed as being open only from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom will also have extended hours. Similarly to the Magic Kingdom, these extended hours appear to end on New Year’s Eve.
Disney World also has the hours for the first full week of January listed on its website. The Magic Kingdom will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Epcot from noon until 8 p.m., Hollywood Studios from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and the Animal Kingdom will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
