Following a 3-night or longer stay at a Disney Resort hotel in 2020, keep your eyes on your mailbox for a newly created letter thanking you for your visit.
On it, you’ll find a QR code that unlocks a hidden screen in the Play Disney Parks mobile app, which offers all sorts of interactive fun and games for family and friends before, during, and in this case, after your visit. The QR code will bring to life an engaging animation in the app featuring your pal, Mickey Mouse, who will appear right before your eyes through a special augmented reality (AR) effect. Check out a sneak peek below!
Afterward, you’ll also earn an exclusive “Thanks for the Magic” digital achievement in the app.
Available in the Apple App Store and Google Play, the Play Disney Parks app continues to be enhanced with new ways to enjoy and celebrate the parks – from activating physical show effects and playing in-queue games to becoming a Disney trivia master, earning ride achievements and finding official Disney Parks playlists through Apple Music.
In a recent tweet from Tokyo Disneyland, the Oriental Land Company revealed that the new monorails headed to the resort will begin transporting guests this Spring.
The new model “Resort Liner (Type C)” being introduced on the Disney Resort Line, a monorail linking Tokyo Disney Resort facilities, is set to debut Thursday, May 21, 2020.
The interior of the new vehicle has a Mickey Mouse-inspired color and Mickey Shape strap with three levels of height, a Mickey Shape window larger than conventional vehicles and where you can enjoy more Disney style than ever before. Take a closer look at the new monorails in the video below:
The first of 5 trains will enter into service on May 21, 2020, with the rest of the trains to be introduced by the end 2024. Take a look below at some of the photos that give us a closer look at the interior that were introduced with the release:
As Walt Disney World Resort decides the future of their monorail system, we can hope that monorail cars similar to these might make their way to the resort. For now, it may just be time to book a trip to Tokyo Disneyland!
If you’re an artist, you are going to love the new Artist’s Palette Minnie Ears we just spotted at Disney World!
They feature a painter’s palette with little Mickey heads in the colors of the rainbow, and two crisscrossed paint brushes.
The ears look like a watercolor painting in progress with some classic Disney characters like the White Rabbit, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Mr. Toad, Peter Pan, and Sorcerer Mickey as you can see below:
These ears retail for $29.99 plus tax. They would be perfect to wear to Epcot for the International Festival of the Arts, or to The Animation Experience at Conservation Station in Animal Kingdom.

Spring is a little over a month away, but Disney’s new Pink Peony Minnie Ears are already blooming!
These Minnie feature pink peonies with white tips. They’re double sided which makes them nice and poufy!
These Minnie Ears will make the perfect edition to your ensemble this year as new sights, sounds and flavors of spring will envelop Walt Disney World Resort guests beginning March 4 when the 27th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival bursts into bloom.
This year’s festival will be chock-full of lush new topiary whimsy, edible delights, gardens to play in and an expanded lineup for the Garden Rocks Concert Series.
The 90-day event continues through June 1, featuring dozens of Disney-crafted topiaries and beds of multi-colored blooms that will transform the Epcot landscape into a floral extravaganza.
An animatronic character of Disney World’s Carousel of Progress attraction reportedly had its hand fall off in the middle of the show according to a recent Reddit post.
“John’s hand fell off during our show,” anonymous user ColtsMcgree wrote alongside a photo of the animatronic — named “John” — missing his right hand during the 1900s portion of the rotating theater attraction.
In the photo listed as “not suitable for work”, the animatronic figure’s hand can be seen off to the right of him, on the floor as you can see in the post below:
No other technical issues were reported by the visitor, but this isn’t the first time something has gone awry at the Carousel of Progress in recent months. Back in December, a guest had to be dragged off after they climbed onto the stage and damaged one of the props before lying down on stage.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open March 4, 2020, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and now Disney has added FastPass+ service for the new attraction for visits beginning March 4.
FastPass+ reservations for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway just became available in the My Disney Experience app for guests visiting on or after opening day (March 4). When the attraction opens, you’ll be able to enjoy the amazing world of Mickey using either FastPass+ (as available) or a standby line.
As many of you know, at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, you’ll enter the NEW Mickey Mouse cartoon short “Perfect Picnic” for a one-of-a-kind adventure where anything can happen. Why? Because here, mouse rules apply!
And when making FastPass+ plans for up to three experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can select between either Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or Slinky Dog Dash. Then, you can add additional experiences to plans, including Toy Story Mania, Alien Swirling Saucers, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Fantasmic! and more.

Whether it’s a party where a baby need to be cursed, or a poisonous apple that needs to be delivered, we all know that Villains like to be on time! Citizen, that iconic watch company, has two gorgeously subtly but darkly sinister timepieces to choose from. Both watches are inscribed on the case back. Maleficent says, “Mistress of all Evil,” and Ursala says, “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” You’ll find these and more Disney watches here.
Does your true love need a way to carry all their spell ingredients on their next adventure through the haunted forest? In that case, Hot Topic has you covered with these two Loungefly bags. The Maleficent satchel is debossed with a scene of Prince Philip battling Maleficent in her dragon form. The mini backpack is made of a soft red velvet and the gold heart on the front is engraved with “Evil Queen.”
If you and your Valentine are more into experiences, then I would highly recommend attending Disney Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park. This separate ticketed event takes place on select nights February 7th – July 10th, 2020. You’ll have the Magic Kingdom as your playground for an additional 3 hours after the park closes to guests. Enjoy frightfully fun entertainment, photo ops, and park entry as early as 7:00 PM. Ice cream novelties, popcorn and select bottled beverages are all included with your event admission. There’s also an After Hours exclusive parade called the Villains’ Cursed Caravan which happens twice a night where Maleficent – the fire-breathing dragon – slinks through the park.
If you’re interested in booking the Villains After Hours Event at Magic Kingdom park contact Kimberly with Enchanted Kingdom Vacations. Check her out here. And Happy Valentine’s Day my nefarious friends!
Disney Villains After Hours returns to Magic Kingdom Park this Friday, February 7 and we have a sneak peek of the new and exclusive merchandise available at the event including a new Oogie Boogie light-up tumbler!
Like last year, Hades takes center stage in the design of many of the items like the signature event pocket t-shirt. Joining Hades are other villains like Maleficent, Scar, Ursula, Evil Queen and Dr. Facilier adorning a new blue pocket t-shirt, a ladies tank, and a ladies long sleeve shirt.
Another fan-favorite villain is sharing the spotlight this year for a few new items. Oogie Boogie is the star of a new light-up tumbler and the headliner for another T-shirt that also includes other villains we love to hate.
You’ll be able to find event merchandise at Emporium, Star Traders and Fantasy Faire. For additional villains merchandise check out Fantasy Faire. You can also find specialty food and beverage offerings available for purchase across the park.
Disney Villains After Hours occurs on 24 select nights starting February 7.
You can purchase tickets for Disney Villains After Hours in advance for $145 plus tax or $155 plus tax on the event night. That’s at $10 savings if you buy early! Plus, Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club Members can take advantage of a $30 discount. Event tickets allow entry as early as 7 p.m., which gives you time to enjoy fireworks before heading off to the attractions. Select complimentary snacks and beverages are also included in the cost of admission.
