    Three Magical Disney Holiday Specials are Coming To ABC and Disney Channel

    Mark your calendars, Disney fans! This holiday season Disney Parks around the world bring the magic of the most wonderful time of the year to your living room with three magical Disney Holiday specials on ABC and Disney Channel.

    This holiday season, ABC and Disney Channel will transport the magic of Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line during the holidays to viewers with three magical specials featuring star-studded performances, merry entertainment and more. During the specials, viewers will get exclusive looks at upcoming Disney Parks attractions, including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, opening soon at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California.

    ABC officially kicks off the holidays with “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration,” THURSDAY, NOV. 28 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST), on ABC; followed by “Disney Channel Holiday Party @ Walt Disney World,” premiering FRIDAY, DEC. 13 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EST), on Disney Channel and in the DisneyNOW app. As part of the annual tradition, the “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” airs Christmas morning, WEDNESDAY, DEC. 25 (10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. EST, 9:00-11:00 a.m. CST/MST/PST; airtimes vary, check listings, on ABC and on the ABC app).

    “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration”kicks off the holiday season Thursday, Nov. 28, from 8:00-10:00 p.m. EST, on ABC and on the ABC app. Join hosts artist Matthew Morrison, singer-songwriter and TV host Emma Bunton, and TV host Jesse Palmer as they present the two-hour prime-time special on Thanksgiving night from Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Resort in California. This magical celebration will feature celebrity musical performances among a flurry of Disney holiday entertainment. During the prime-time special, viewers will be treated to several Disney Parks sneak peeks, including a behind-the-scenes look into Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, opening in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on Dec. 5, 2019, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida and Jan. 17, 2020, at Disneyland Park in California.

    Musical performances include the following:

    • GRAMMY Award-winning icons Sting and Shaggy perform duets and solo numbers from Walt Disney World Resort, including a new festive reggae version of “Silent Night (Christmas is Coming).”
    • GRAMMY Award-winning rock band The Man performs “Happy Christmas” and “Merry Christmas Everybody” from Disneyland Resort.
    • Three-time GRAMMY Award-winning group Pentatonix will sing a cappella renditions of “Deck the Halls” and “Here Comes Santa Claus” from Walt Disney World Resort.
    • Singers Ingrid Michaelson and Andy Grammer perform an all-new original holiday song from Disneyland Resort.
    • International pop star Ally Brooke sings “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” from Walt Disney World Resort.
    • Singer-songwriter and TV host Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) performs “Santa Baby” from Walt Disney World Resort.
    • The Tony, Emmyand two-time Golden Globe-nominated artist Matthew Morrison performs a medley from Walt Disney World Resort of “When You Wish Upon A Star” from the upcoming album “Disney Dreamin’with Matthew Morrison” and the classic “Let it Snow.”
    • Acclaimed two-time Billboard Award-winning electronic violinist Lindsey Stirling pulls all the strings for “Carol of the Bells” from Walt Disney World Resort.

    “Disney Channel Holiday Party @ Walt Disney World“ airs Friday, Dec. 13, from 8:00-8:30 p.m.  EST/PST, on Disney Channel and in the DisneyNOW app. Disney Channel’s “ZOMBIES 2” stars MegDonnellyand Milo Manheimwill co-host this holiday party with artist Matthew Morrison, treating fans to a magical holiday celebration featuring performances from Shaggy,  Pentatonix and Disney Channel stars Issac Ryan Brown (“Raven’s Home“), Ruby Rose Turner (“Coop & Cami Ask the World”) and Kylie Cantrall (“Gabby Duran & The Unsittables”) broadcast from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and aboard the majestic Disney Fantasy – part of the Disney Cruise Line fleet. During the special, viewers will enjoy exclusive Disney Parks sneak peeks, including a first look at Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida in spring 2020 and Disneyland Park in California in the future. Viewers will also get an exclusive look at the Disney Channel Original Movie sequel “ZOMBIES 2,” premiering on Disney Channel in 2020. Additionally, “BUNK’D” stars Scarlett Estevezand Israel Johnson will host a special family segment highlighting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program.

    “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” airsWednesday, Dec. 25, from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. EST, 9:00-11:00 a.m. CST/MST/PST; airtimes vary, check listings, on ABC and on the ABC app. Disney’s annual Christmas celebration airs Christmas morning on ABC hosted by artist Matthew Morrison,singer-songwriter and TV host Emma Bunton,and TV host Jesse Palmer. Joining as co-hosts are ABC’s “black-ish” star Marsai Martin with Hollywood Records Artist and Disney’s “The Lion King” star JD McCrary, who voiced young Simba in the live-action film. Presented from Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Resort in California, the show features the Christmas Day Parade down Main Street U.S.A., heartwarming stories and amazing celebrity performances. Among the exclusive Disney Parks sneak peeks planned for this special are Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida in spring 2020 and Disneyland Park in California in the future, plus Avengers Campus coming to Disney California Adventure Park in California in 2020. Viewers will also get a special look at “the most magical flight on earth”: the newly opened Disney Skyliner gondola system, connecting Walt Disney World Resort guests to two Disney theme parks and four resorts, including the new Disney’s Riviera Resort, opening Dec. 16.

    • Singers Ingrid Michaelson and Grace Vander Waal sing “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” from Disneyland Resort.
    • GRAMMY Award-winning rock band The Man performs “White Christmas” and “Feel it Still” from Disneyland Resort.

    The holiday specials are a collaboration by Disney Parks, ABC, Disney Channel and Endeavor Content.

    Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Officially Starts the Holiday Season at Disney World

    The holiday season is here and it all kicks off tonight at Magic Kingdom Park, with the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

    The event transforms Magic Kingdom Park into a winter wonderland for the most magical 23 days of the year!

    Debuting this year is the nighttime spectacular “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.” And you can watch the brand-new show tonight, by tuning into Disney’s live stream at 9:55 p.m. on the Disney Parks Blog.

    Returning favorites include the special holiday-themed parade “Once Upon a Christmas Time”, the Cinderella Castle stage show “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration” and so much more!

    In addition to the wonderful holiday entertainment guests can also ride Magic Kingdom Park classic attractions, savor complimentary treats and enjoy a magical “snowfall” on Main Street, U.S.A.

    Pixar’s ‘Soul’ Debuts First Trailer and Gets Existential

    Walt Disney dropped the first teaser for Pixar’s big summer 2020 flick “Soul” today on Good Morning America asking some serious existential questions.

    What do you want to be remembered for? That’s the central question in “Soul,” Disney and Pixar’s upcoming existential animated adventure about a middle school music teacher (voiced by Jamie Foxx) who dreams of being a jazz performer.

    “Soul” concerns Joe, a middle-school band teacher, whose true passion is playing jazz, and who gets his dream gig moments before he dies. Take a look at the trailer below:

    The trailer opens with Joe asking, “What would you want to be known for on Earth?” A montage follows that shows people in their everyday lives, including commuting in a busy city and working jobs like a doctor, barber and hedge fund manager. “We only have a short time on this planet. You wanna become the person that you were born to be? Don’t waste your time on all the junk of life,” Joe continues in a voiceover.

    On his journey to get back to his own body, Joe meets Tina Fey‘s 22, a soul who can’t stand humans but helps Joe on his mission across the cosmos. Other characters are voiced by Blindspotting‘s Daveed Diggs, The Cosby Show‘s Phylicia Rashad, and The Roots drummer Questlove.

    Co-directed by Pete Doctor and Kemp Powers, and produced by Dana Murray, “Soul” will be in theaters on June 19.

    Marvel Studios Begins Filming ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’

    “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” a new series coming exclusively to Disney+ has finally begun filming!

    Earlier this year at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios announced the exciting news that Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan would be reprising their roles as Sam Wilson, aka the Falcon, and Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier in and on Tuesday, the two stars took over Marvel Studios’ Instagram to announce that production is officially under way!

    It’s no new news that these two have incredible and hilarious chemistry both on and off the screen, and this short teaser takeover was the perfect reminder of that. The Instagram takeover kicked off with Mackie doing a solo takeover explaining he has big news to share, but was quickly interrupted by Stan jumping in on his takeover to make the news public. Ultimately, we got to the big announcement — that production has started on their much-anticipated new series.

    The series is expected to release in late 2020! Other upcoming Marvel Studios projects include Black Widow on May 1, 2020, The Eternals on November 6, 2020, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on February 12, 2021, WandaVision in spring 2021, Loki in spring 2021, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 7, 2021, What If? In summer 2021, Hawkeye in fall 2021, and Thor: Love and Thunder on November 5, 2021, 2021, and Black Panther 2 on May 6, 2022. Marvel Studios Disney+ series without release dates include Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk.

    Guests who will attend this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom Park will discover festive décor, holiday-themed food and beverage items, and new magical entertainment. In addition to all the very merry fun, guests can also purchase new party inspired merchandise!

    Decorative apparel such as spirit jerseys and T-shirts adorned with Holiday icons will be available during the party along with joyful keepsakes like a commemorative MagicBand, a mug for hot cocoa, and a dated Christmas tree ornament.

    Young Eland Born After Hurricane Finally Makes Debut at Animal Kingdom

    First steps were in the forecast this morning at Disney’s Animal Kingdom as Disney’s young eland, Doppler, finally showed up on the radar and officially made his debut onto the Kilimanjaro Safaris savanna.

    Doppler was born roughly two months ago on the heels of Hurricane Dorian. His name was inspired by his post-storm arrival.

    Mom and baby spent the morning exploring and playing on the savanna, and the young calf was eager to meet some of his new neighbors.

    Since his birth, Doppler has been bonding with his mom, Clover, in a backstage habitat and he’s been growing quickly. Common elands are some of the largest antelopes in the world. Doppler was nearly 70 pounds at birth, and he’s already almost doubled his weight in just two months.

    While he will continue to nurse for the next couple of months, Doppler has developed quite an appetite for some of his favorite new foods – lettuce, carrots and sweet potatoes. When he’s fully grown, Doppler will stand about 8-feet-tall and his legs will be powerful enough for him to jump that high too.

    Doppler was born as part of a species survival plan in partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

    Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starts THIS WEEK and this year’s party features an array of sweet and savory bites that will keep you merry and bright all season long including Mini Christmas Churros which are a Churro lovers Christmas wish come true!

    Mini Christmas Churros are topped with red and green sprinkles and served with chocolate dipping sauce. You can find them daily at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Café and Outdoor Vending Churro Carts.

    Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party occurs on select nights throughout November and December and features exclusive food and beverage offerings, special entertainment and character greetings, festive dance parties, complimentary holiday cookies throughout the park, and more. This year’s party begins on November 8.

    And of course, you can always enhance your festive experience with two special add-ons this year: Tony’s Most Merriest Town Square Party (with reserved viewing for the holiday parade) and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party (with either Tomorrowland Terrace or Plaza Garden fireworks viewing).     Original Sanderson Sisters Confirmed For ‘Hocus Pocus’ Sequel on Disney+

    Disney+ recently revealed a follow-up to the 1993 Disney classic is in the works and it appears the original Sanderson Sisters will be making a return and everyone’s three favorite witches are returning to put another spell on audiences in the “Hocus Pocus” sequel.

    Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed on Instagram that she and fellow cast members Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy will return for the Disney+ sequel and the news has many fans running amok, amok, amok with anticipation!

    Parker teased the trio’s return to Salem, Massachusetts as you can see in the Instagram post below:

    Excited for what could come, one fan asked if there was ‘any chance of a sequel?!’, to which Sarah said: ‘we have all said yes. Now we wait. X’ While when another fan asked if the trio would be up for ’round 2′, she responded ‘sure’ and ‘we await instructions.’

    The original 1993 film about a trio of 17th-century witches wreaking havoc in modern-day Salem, Massachusetts, stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy. The film was directed by Kenny Ortega and based on a screenplay by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert.

    “Workaholics” writer Jen D’Angelo is reportedly writing the sequel and has been tasked with finding a way to bring back the original cast of Bette Midler as Winifred, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah, and Kathy Najimy as Mary.

    New Mickey Mouse Meet & Greet Coming to Epcot

    A multi-year transformation of Epcot is underway that will reimagine the park while keeping true to the original vision and with it comes new places to meet and interact with some of your favorite Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse himself!

    Mickey will soon be making appearances in a new location at the Imagination! pavilion, as part of the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival. Just inside the entrance, you’ll discover Mickey greeting his fans and celebrating his on-screen stardom.

    Formerly Mickey and pals could be found at Meet Disney Pals at the Epcot Character Spot which closed back in July as part of the massive multi-year overhaul.

    Mickey’s imagination has led to a career in the movies for 90 years and counting, featuring roles in dozens of short films such as “Get A Horse” which you can enjoy as part of the festival. Look for Mickey to arrive at the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival in early 2020!
