As we’ve previously announced, Disney California Adventure park will welcome Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind to Pixar Pier and yesterday, Disney announced this whimsical family-friendly attraction will open this summer!
Inspired by the Disney and Pixar film “Inside Out,” guests are invited to step into the workplace of Riley’s Emotions—Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger. Once you hop aboard one of eight Memory Movers, you’ll take a sense-ational spin and find yourself surrounded by vibrant shelves packed with glowing recollections.
Below is a first look at a few of the attraction posters, which each explore parts of the mind as featured in “Inside Out.”
This ride is definitely going to hit all the feels. Stay tuned to Disney Dorks for all the latest updates.
As we previously reported, a one-of-a-kind, space-themed restaurant is currently planned for Epcot that’ll offer guests amazing meals and a spectacular view – from high above Earth and today, Disney announced that this new restaurant will be open for business by the end of 2019.
The restaurant was initially announced in summer 2017 and once completed, the restaurant will invite guests to travel to space for an amazing dining experience in the stars. Menu details are few, but we know they have developed a menu that features internationally-inspired cuisine, more than 1,000 bottles of the world’s finest wines and a wide selection of craft beer.
The new restaurant will be operated by the Patina Restaurant Group, led by Nick Valenti, which operates several other restaurants around Walt Disney World Resort, including Tutto Italia and Via Napoli at Epcot and Morimoto Asia and Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante at Disney Springs.
But Epcot guests don’t have to wait until the restaurant opens to enjoy a thrilling adventure in space. In summer 2017, the park’s Mission: SPACE attraction launched new experiences: the enhanced Orange Mission offers a truly intense experience that lets guests feel the force of an actual space launch en route to Mars; while the all-new, family-friendly Green Mission takes guests on an exciting orbit around Earth.
The price point for the new restaurant is still a mystery and there has been no announcement about its name.
Whether you are celebrating a first visit, birthday or any other occasion, the complementary celebration buttons are a must have and now Disney has come up with some new button designs that are available for guests to purchase.
There are four sets of designs to choose from and they have been spotted at World of Disney in Disney Springs for $9.99. They are sure to show up in the parks soon and more designs will surely follow.
These new buttons come with that signature “I’m Celebrating ” look, but are inspired by Disney Park attractions like The Haunted Mansion and even Disney trends like Rose Gold and the purple wall. Take a look at the new designs below:
To say Disney came up with the idea is either a bit of an overstatement or an understatement depending on how you look at it. The original celebration buttons were so popular that they inspired multiple fans and independent sellers on sites like Etsy to create there own custom celebration buttons and now Disney has decided to take the reins back and has started making some of their own. It’s kind of a chicken and the egg thing. Lets just say they inspired each other.
Not to worry though, because you can still pick up the free First Visit buttons and other celebrations buttons from your Disney resort as you check in, or at Guest Relations at any of the Disney Parks or Disney Springs.
A 69-year-old North Carolina woman was recently arrested at Disney World when CBD oil was found in her purse at a security check point.
Hester Jordan Burkhalter began using CBD oil for her arthritis after her doctor recommended it. She even had a note from the medical professional in her purse at the time of arrest, but it didn’t matter.
She then spent 12 hours behind bars before being released on a $2,000 bond. Orange County Sheriff’s Office officials have said that their deputy was just following the law, but the charges against Burkhalter were eventually dropped.
Burkhalter told Fox 35 that she had been planning on the trip for two years. “I have really bad arthritis in my legs, in my arms and in my shoulder,” she said. “I use (CBD oil) for the pain because it helps.” When she was stopped by security outside of the Magic Kingdom, however, she was arrested. “I’ve never had but maybe one speeding ticket in my life.”
Despite the fact that it’s sold on store shelves across the state, CBD oil is still technically illegal in the state of Florida (unless the user has a prescription). This has created a confusing situation in the Sunshine State.

A man jumped off Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to retrieve his phone, ruining the rest of the ride for all of the other passengers.
The video was posted back in January 2018, but the story has really started picking up steam this week online with news outlets across the internet reacting the incident.
As the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride climbed to a big drop, the man jumped out of his carriage to ‘retrieve his phone’ as you can see in the video below.
A father filming the roller coaster captured the moment the other passenger stepped out of the ride to retrieve the ‘shattered’ phone.
The ride was stopped completely as an announcer said there were “technical difficulties.” They even made everyone in line get out and told them to comeback at a later time.
Yesterday, guests visiting Epcot cheered as the U.S. Navy Blue Angels performed several magical passes above the iconic Spaceship Earth attraction in honor of Military Appreciation Month.
The Blue Angels executed two flyovers at 500 feet, roaring by at speeds of more than 250 mph. During one of the passes, the pilots performed a perfect “Delta Break” maneuver above the Spaceship Earth.
Many guests at Epcot, which included visiting U.S.military personnel, veterans and their families, said it was a special experience watching some of the world’s best pilots in action during their Disney vacation. Take a look at the amazing video below:
“I did two tours in Vietnam and I was on the USS Somers and to see them go right over Spaceship Earth and on the second pass, when they split up – it was awesome,” Epcot guest and Navy veteran James Fredricks said. “I can’t help myself from getting emotional about it.”
Supporting the U.S. Armed Forces and celebrating their service has long been a Disney tradition. After the celebration at Epcot, the Blue Angels travel south – to the Fort Lauderdale Air Show in Florida.
Peter Mayhew, who is known to fans worldwide as the lovable Wookiee Chewbacca from “Star Wars”, has died at the age of 74, according to his agent.
The London actor played Chewbacca in “Star Wars” (1977), “The Empire Strikes Back” (1980), “Return of the Jedi” (1983), “Revenge of the Sith” (2005) and “The Force Awakens” (2015). He also consulted on “The Last Jedi” to help teach his successor.
Mayhew died on April 30 with his family by his side in his North Texas home. He is survived by his wife, Angie, and three children. His official Twitter account shared the news Thursday, as you can see in the post below:
The family of Peter Mayhew, with deep love and sadness, regrets to share the news that Peter has passed away. He left us the evening of April 30, 2019 with his family by his side in his North Texas home. pic.twitter.com/YZ5VLyuK0u
“He put his heart and soul into the role of Chewbacca and it showed in every frame of the films from his knock-kneed running, firing his bowcaster from the hip, his bright blue eyes, down to each subtle movement of his head and mouth,” his family said. “But, to him, the Star Wars family meant so much more to him than a role in a film.”
He established the Peter Mayhew Foundation to provide funds for those in need, and suported the 501st Legion, Wounded Warriors, Make-a-Wish and other non-profits. Donations may be made to the Peter Mayhew Foundation.
“His kindness, generosity and care will live on in the Peter Mayhew Foundation with Angie taking the helm as his voice,” his family said.
There will be a memorial service for friends and family on June 29, with a memorial for fans in Los Angeles in early December at EmpireCon. He is survived by his wife, Angie, and three children.
