    Disney Pledges $5 Million to Support Rebuilding of Notre-Dame Cathedral

    The Walt Disney Company today announced it is committing $5 million to aid in the reconstruction of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris following the devastating fire that severely damaged the historic landmark this week.

    “Notre-Dame is a beacon of hope and beauty that has defined the heart of Paris and the soul of France for centuries, inspiring awe and reverence for its art and architecture and for its enduring place in human history. The Walt Disney Company stands with our friends and neighbors in the community, offering our heartfelt support as well as a $5 million donation for the restoration of this irreplaceable masterpiece,” said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company.

    In 1996, Disney released “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” an animated movie based on a novel written by Victor Hugo. Disney’s movie was nominated for an Academy Award for best music, original musical or comedy score.

    The Associated Press reported nearly $1 billion has been raised from “ordinary worshippers” to “high-powered magnates around the world” to reconstruct the beloved cathedral.

    Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler and his daughter, actress Liv Tyler, visited Disneyland Paris over the weekend!

    Steven and Liv spent the day rockin’ around the merry-go-round (the traditional Le Carrousel de Lancelot, that is) and paying a visit to the Big Cheese himself.

    A trip with the Tylers to Walt Disney Studios would not be complete without a joy ride on  Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. The duo also stopped by Armageddon: les Effets Spéciaux, based on the special effects in Liv’s 1998 film Armageddon.

    Along with her husband and children, Liv also paid a visit to Sleeping Beauty Castle and “it’s a small world”, making time to meet Tigger and Goofy along the way. It was an rockin’ trip for sure!

    PANDORA and Disneyland Paris announced recently that they have signed a multi-year strategic alliance that will introduce new official Disneyland Paris versions of the iconic PANDORA charms and a new retail location for Europe’s number one tourist destination.

    The Disney PANDORA collection is a jewellery assortment available at Pandora stores worldwide that also offers a selection of exclusive Disney-themed charms available only in Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. As part of this alliance relationship, PANDORA’s core collection at Disneyland Paris is available at five merchandise locations with each location offering a different experience to highlight the range of charms and bracelets inspired by Disney Characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and the iconic Disney Princesses. The PANDORA collection will also soon be available for sale in its own unique retail location in Walt Disney Studios Park which opens in April.

    This new alliance relationship names PANDORA as the official sponsor of Disney Illuminations, an unforgettable nightly show that brings together groundbreaking special effects and impressive fireworks to transform Sleeping Beauty Castle before taking guests on a journey through beloved Disney stories.

    This strategic alliance is part of a broader agreement with The Walt Disney Company. PANDORA first entered into a strategic Corporate Alliance with Disney in August 2014. Under the terms of the agreement, PANDORA created an original collection of Disney-themed jewellery, which is since sold in the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. and Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., as well as in PANDORA stores throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America and the Caribbean. The alliance was then extended in November 2015 to include the Asia Pacific region.

    “We are excited about this great opportunity to now have one of our store locations in such a beautiful setting as the Walt Disney Studios Park,” said Delphine Medaouri, Pandora France Managing Director. “Our customers will be able to have a new experience in a place that perfectly matches the values ​​of PANDORA.”

    Disneyland Paris Is An Experience You Can’t Miss

    If you always wanted to visit Disneyland Paris, now is a great time to do it!

    If you’ve never been to Disneyland Paris—or maybe you even still call it EuroDisney—there’s plenty more at the French park than what you might realize. If you’re wondering if it is worth the trip? Let’s just say it’s the only place in the world you can eat dinner at a Mickey Mouse rodeo and experience “Ratatouille” in real life.

    The two parks are so close together, you can easily visit both in one day, the tickets you can use all day, jumping from park to park, as you wish. I recommend at least three days though, two in Disneyland Park and one in Walt Disney Studios. The ideal vacation, if you want to see the shows, try most of the rides, and meet characters, is six days (In my opinion). If you are staying in a Disney hotel, you of course have the extra magic hours, which you should really use! You also want have time to see Disney Village, which is a lovely place to relax before and/or after going to the parks.

    At Disneyland Paris transportation is a breeze and very accessible! There is a train that takes you from Paris, straight to the parks. If you are traveling by air then getting to the magic from Paris has never been easier with your choice of shuttle buses, rental cars, train services and private chauffeur. ‘Magical Shuttle’ Airport Bus takes you from the Paris airports straight to the heart of the magic. Magical Shuttle airport bus is only available as an option and is not included in a package.

    The park, which is in the middle of celebrating its 25th anniversary keeps the celebration going strong. The celebration includes:

    Disneyland Park:

    • Disney characters in special anniversary outfits
    • New parade, called “Stars on parade”, which is every day at 17:30
    • New castle show at nighttime, called “Disney Illuminations”, which features new songs, pictures, and even has Live action Disney movies, Star Wars and Marvel included
    • All new amazing merchandise featuring 25 anniversary, and stars on parade
    • New decorations with 25 years anniversary theme
    • A show at the Royal Castle stage called “Mickey presents: Happy Anniversary Disneyland Paris”

    Massive Multi-Year Expansion Announced for Disneyland Paris

    This morning, Disney Chairman and CEO Robert A. Iger announced plans for a two billion euro, multi-year expansion for Disneyland Paris alongside French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palais de l’Elysée in Paris.

    The new development will include a transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park, adding three new areas based on Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars, along with new attractions and live entertainment experiences. A new lake will be the focal point for entertainment experiences and connect each of the three new areas, completing one of the most ambitious projects at Disneyland Paris since its opening in 1992.

    “We’re very excited about the future of Disneyland Paris and continue to invest in its long-term success,” said Iger. “The resort is already the leading tourist destination in Europe, and the transformative expansion we announced today will add even more of our beloved characters and unparalleled storytelling to create new lands, attractions and entertainment that further elevate the guest experience and drive new opportunities for tourism in this dynamic region.”

    Marvel Coaster Paris

    The multi-year development will roll out in phases beginning in 2021, significantly expanding Walt Disney Studios Park. Each new area will bring to life some of Disney’s most popular stories and characters, including the previously announced reimagining of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith as a high-speed, hyper-kinetic adventure with Iron Man.

    This new development will build on the success of the resort’s 25th Anniversary celebration and enhance the guest experience for millions of visitors in the years to come.

    Season of the Force at Disneyland Paris Has Fan-Built Star Wars Vehicles This Year

    Season of the Force has returned to Disneyland Paris and there’s so much in store for you whether you’re a fan of the light side or the dark side. This year, on top of thrilling daytime and nighttime spectaculars and all of your favorite character appearances, a one-of-a-kind exhibition is also on display at Walt Disney Studios Park.

    For the very first time, Disneyland Paris is home to five large-scale vehicles inspired by the Star Wars galaxy! Built by fans, these intergalactic icons offer a unique chance to immerse yourself in the epic saga like never before. Models include an X-wing starfighter, ETA-2 Jedi starfighter, Imperial tie fighter, A-wing fighter and a combat assault tank.

    Disneyland Paris Season of the Force

    Fans will also see a few updates to last year’s offerings, including scenes from Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the nighttime projection show Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular at Walt Disney Studios Park and Star Tours: The Adventures Continue at Disneyland Park. Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain is also open as part of the 25th Anniversary celebration.

    The legendary characters of the Empire, the First Order and the Resistance will all make appearances for Season of the Force. But keep an eye out – odds are you’ll come face-to-face with a Stormtrooper patrol during your visit. It’s all at Disneyland Paris until March 25!
