Disney World Begins Digitally Inserting Masks on Ride Photos

Walt Disney World is reportedly digitally inserting masks on park guests who take their masks off on rides.

Prior to this, the park would not provide parkgoers access to ride photos in which masks were not in place properly, meaning anyone else on the same ride would be affected by the actions of anyone not wearing their masks properly.

The practice can be seen in a photo from the Dinosaur ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, according to a guest who posted the photo to the Facebook group Disney World Junkies. Take a look below:

In the photo a passenger can be seen in the back row of the ride vehicle with an oversized black mask over the face that seems digitally placed.

On Disney’s FAQ page on masks, it states, “If anyone in your ride vehicle’s mask is removed during an on-ride photo, you will not see or receive that photo.”

Get Your First Sneak Peek of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Attraction

Today Disney Parks shared a sneak peek at the new Beauty and the Beast ride and attraction coming to Tokyo Disneyland.

The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, as it will be called, is modeled after the original 1991 animated film and features animatronic figures of Belle, Beast, her horse Philippe and other characters. The attraction is being added to the park as part of a large-scale development plan bringing new attractions, entertainment, shopping and dining to the park.

“We’re very excited to be creating the first ride through attraction of Beauty and the Beast anywhere in the world right here in Tokyo Disneyland,” said Disney Imagineering Senior Producer Jim Clark. Take a look at some of the details and amazing concept art below.

The ride is just part of a Fantasyland revamp. Beauty and the Beast Castle will be the centerpiece of a new area themed to “Beauty and the Beast” in Fantasyland and tower nearly 98 feet above the surrounding area and house the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, a new attraction inviting guests to step into the animated film aboard ride vehicles that dance in rhythm to the film’s music.

The nearby Village Shoppes and La Taverne de Gaston will further allow guests to explore the world of the film and enjoy the ambience of Belle’s village.

The ride will debut in spring in 2020 as part of the resort’s expansion plan. In addition to nearly doubling the size of Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland, Imagineers are hard at work on an eighth themed port at Tokyo DisneySea, celebrating the stories of Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan and connecting to a new deluxe hotel with a one-of-a-kind luxury wing.

  • Massive Hollywood Studios Power Outage Shuts Down Most Rides

Massive Hollywood Studios Power Outage Shuts Down Most Rides

A Hollywood Studios Power Outage caused a pause in the magic today for guests visiting the park. It seems a problem with the cooling system shut down several rides at the theme park earlier this evening, a spokeswoman said.

Most of the rides are up and running now or in the process of starting back up. Reports on social media described it as a power outage.

Park operators are working to fix the issue as quickly as possible, according to the spokeswoman. and the park remains open.

Duke Energy’s map showed outages in the area. One theme-park goer posted a screenshot of the MyDisneyExperience app showing a substantial number of rides were “temporarily closed.”

No other details were immediately available.

First Look: New Incredicoaster Trains at Disney California Adventure Park

When Pixar Pier opens this summer California Screamin’ will be permanently transformed into Incredicoaster! The attraction is already closed for construction and today Disney gives us a first glimpse of the new Incredicoaster trains that will ride the rails of the newly redesigned high-speed wooden roller coaster.

Disney Imagineers have been putting the final details on the new trains, which will take you on a thrilling race alongside “The Incredibles.” The superhero family, each with special gifts, will race alongside guests during the attraction, trying to catch their baby Jack-Jack.

The Incredicoaster will glide around Pixar Pier on steel tracks that cover a distance of almost 1-1/8 miles—the longest and fastest roller coaster at the Disneyland Resort. The attraction will feature a super combination of character figures, lighting, music and special effects, bringing all the action of “The Incredibles” to life!

The coaster’s existing tunnels will be fully enclosed, and the character of Mrs. Incredible, also known as Elastigirl, will stretch inside, over the heads of coaster riders, trying to catch her baby.

The new loading area for the ride will be a soaring glass mid-century-modern building inspired by the Parr family home in the movie. Music will be provided that hypes the new “Incredibles 2” movie slated to open July 14.

There has been a 13-year wait for The Incredibles 2, finally coming to theaters next year, but the anticipation is even higher as we wait for Incredicoaster’s debut this summer.  You can enter for a chance to win a Pixar Pier getaway here! The new area opens June 23 at Disney California Adventure park.
