Vans Launching New Collection Dedicated To Mickey Mouse’s 90th Anniversary

Vans and Disney are teaming up once again to deliver a collection celebrating the true original, Mickey Mouse to commemorate the 90^th anniversary of Disney’s beloved character.

The frequent collaborators released a collection back in August which combined artists and Mickey Mouse to celebrate the very same occasion, but if anyone deserves multiple celebrations it’s Mickey Mouse.

With this collection, Vans designers bring decades of iconic Mickey Mouse imagery to a magical collection which is founded on 11 designs that capture Mickey Mouse’s spirit and evolution spanning from his introduction in the late 1920’s to present day.

To commemorate Mickey Mouse’s film debut in 1928, the Sk8-Hi has been remastered to showcase iconic scenes from the black and white silent film, Plane Crazy. Each quarter panel features a film scene that is captured under a patent material and is finished with a 3-D emblem on the heels.

The 1940’s introduction of the animated film Fantasia brought Mickey Mouse’s mischievous persona to light as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”. Taking inspiration from the Sorcerer’s hat, the Sk8-Hi is transformed to include velvet quarter panels adorned with celestial moon and star embroidery, which is complimented by blue suede panels and contrast yellow stitching. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice inspired Sk8-Hi is finished with a black sole, star printed laces and a Sorcerer’s Apprentice emblem on the heel. To compliment the collection a Fantasiathemed tee and Old Skool II Backpack feature a far out, tie-dye print and Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Disney fans can channel their inner Mouseketeer in an Old Skool model that is dedicated to the Mickey Mouse Club. Utilizing suede and cotton canvas materials, the Old Skool silhouette features a red Sidestripe and club logo sewn on the tongue. The Mickey Mouse Club themed Old Skool is finished with custom chain stitched embroidery on the back of each heel.

Vans designers channel the 1980’s in a special model of the Old Skool, which combines multi-color uppers in pink, yellow and green. The design is topped off with a classically cool Mickey Mouse print and the Vans’ iconic Checkerboard pattern. Both men and women will receive nostalgic ‘80s-inspired apparel and accessories options including hoodies, jackets, backpacks and accessories.

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are tougher than nails on a special flaming Checkerboard Slip-On. Channeling the 1990’s both Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse get a punk makeover. Vans and Disney fans can showcase their own “Off The Wall” attitude in the LS BF Tee, backpack, hat and hoodie that showcase flaming sleeves and a Checkerboard hood liner.

Mickey Mouse fans can channel the true original himself in the Mickey Mouse-inspired Authentic. Vans’ original deck shoe has been updated with Mickey Mouse’s trademark colors including a yellow sole complimented by black and red uppers and applique yellow buttons along the heels.

A canvas rendition of the Old Skool showcases Mickey Mouse’s iconic gloves holding the medial side of the shoe. Disney fans will have to look closely as there is a hidden Mickey located on the tongue of each shoe. This simplified take on a classic serves as inspiration for a matching women’s apparel assortment that includes a checkerboard emblazoned tee, hoodie, hat and backpack.

Mickey Mouse’s eternal sweetheart, Minnie Mouse, will receive her own two-piece footwear and apparel assortment that channels her classic polka dotted dress. Using her giant oversized bow and satin materialization, the Authentic Gore and Slide-On Sandal get dressed up with Minnie Mouse detailing and is finished with a delicate scalloped edge. Matching crewneck, backpack and sock options are also available in the selection.

The collection wraps with a last rendition that could only be created by Vans and Disney fans themselves. Vans Customs will receive two exclusive prints including a special Mickey Mouse inspired icon and a Minnie Mouse polka dot pattern that will be available beginning October 5 on Vans.com/Customs. New Vault By Vans Disney Collection Celebrates 90 Years of Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse is an icon and over the past 90 years, he has left his mark on entertainment, pop culture, and fashion. Everyone’s favorite mouse is turning 90 this year and to celebrate this milestone, Vault by Vans and Disney have teamed up once again for a new collection that combines artists and Mickey Mouse.

The new line showcases one-of-a-kind artwork from four artists, including John Van Hamersveld, Mr. Cartoon, Geoff McFetridge, and Taka Hayashi. The designs will be featured on Vans’ OG Sk8-Hi LX, as well as a short-sleeved tee. Each artist brings their own unique interpretation of Mickey, all while celebrating the things we love about this iconic character.

With a mutual passion for California culture, renowned illustrator and graphic designer , John Van Hamersveld is continuously recognized  for his influential graphics and images that are quintessential markers of Southern California culture. Best known for his psychedelic patterns and vibrant color schemes, he is a pioneer in the worlds of art, music, and surf—blending these genres perfectly into his extensive repertoire. For this collection, Van Hamersveld produces bright, punchy graphics featuring the one and only Mickey Mouse.

Legendary tattoo artist Mark Machado, more famously known as Mister Cartoon, is a Mexican-American artist born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Mister Cartoon is recognized and sought after for his richly detailed hand-rendered style of fine line tattooing—a technique that uses diluted black ink to create shadows and depth. What sets his work apart is the textural intricacy and stunning details of his three-dimensional- appearing works. His contribution to the collection depicts a black and grey illustration of the iconic “True Original” mouse driving a vintage car.

To bring a minimalistic and surreal illustrative style to the collection, Vault by Vans and Disney worked with Geoff McFetridge, Canadian designer, illustrator, and animator based in Los Angeles. McFetridge’s work intuitively ignores creative boundaries and spans a broad range of art media. The versatility and simplicity in his work is balanced by the use of elegant line drawings and paintings. His design captures Mickey Mouse in a unique pattern, highlighting his iconic colors – black, red and yellow.

Vault by Vans mainstay, Taka Hayashi, completes the collection with his commitment to detailed craftsmanship and unique design approach. Hayashi’s design features an unexpected hit of pink, conveying a Mickey Mouse inspired hot air balloon.

Disney and TOMS New Princess Collection Has Fans Royally Obsessed

Disney and TOMS shoe company have released a Cinderella-inspired collection that has Disney Princess fans going crazy!

The Cinderella collection is the first of a series of Disney x TOMS collections, with Sleeping Beauty and Snow White collections to follow in July and August. Toms says, the 30-piece capsule collection is “for those who break glass ceilings in glass slippers”

The collection honors the female artists who worked behind the scenes on classic Walt Disney films by bringing never-before-seen sketches from Disney’s former all-female Ink and Paint Department to life. The California-based company dug deep into the storied Walt Disney archives to create a 30-piece capsule of women’s and kids’ shoes featuring original never-before-seen character sketches from the classic films.

All of the Toms and Disney products will come in specially designed packaging. Retail prices will range from $64.95-$75 for women’s footwear, $49-$59 for kids’ footwear, $170-$190 for women’s eyewear and $90 for kids’ eyewear.

As is the case with all TOMS products, for every pair of shoes you buy, a new pair will be donated to a child in need. The brand has already donated more than 75 million pairs of shoes to children in need around the world.

The Cinderella inspired shoes and glasses debuted on June 21. Sleeping Beauty styles will follow on July 19, and then Snow White styles will be available on August 23. In addition, a special six-piece holiday capsule collection of shoes will be unveiled on Oct. 18.

Cinderella Crown Shoe Decoration

Supplies:
- Silver Glitter Craft Foam
- Grey Craft Foam
- Lace Detail
- Silver Glitter Glue
- Spray Adhesive
Directions:
1. Using a pencil and scissors, trace and cut the shape of the crown for the foam and lace pieces.
2. Using the spray adhesive, attach the two pieces of foam and adhere the lace detailing.
3. Add extra sparkle with detailing from the Glitter Glue.
4. Cut two slits based on your running shoes and attach fasteners to allow sneaker laces to weave through the decoration.
5. Weave laces through your crown decoration and off to the ball you go!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Shoes By Christian Louboutin are Out of this Galaxy

With the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi only one week away, the merch is coming out faster than a pod racer on Tatooine. The force is strong with these shoes and they are stunning to look at.

Famed shoe designer Christian Louboutin has partnered with Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Studios to create custom shoes inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The four designs are inspired by the film’s heroines and each include a bespoke glimmering jewel, reminiscent of a Tie Fighter.

REY

The Rey shoe has an ankle-strap leather sandal inspired by her outfit, with translucent PVC elements that reflect her Force abilities. We love that the heel shines just as bright as her blue lightsaber.

CAPTAIN PHASMA

Everyone’s favorite First Order Stormtrooper gets a glam heel inspired by her armor, with silver specchio leather yokes, reflecting her authoritative character.

ROSE TICO

Since Rose works in maintenance for the Resistance, Christian Louboutin designed a utilitarian sandal that depicts her technical side.

VICE ADMIRAL AMILYN HOLDO

Taking direct inspiration from her costume, the Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo shoe features similar draping elements and the colors of her cape.

While the shoes won’t be available in stores, the commemorative styles—each signed by the designer, as well as the actress who portrays each character the style was created for—will be auctioned on charitybuzz.com/StarWars from December 7-December 20, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Starlight Children’s Foundation on behalf of Star Wars: Force for Change.

But that’s not all! Christian Louboutin also designed a custom showpiece shoe with the team at Industrial Light and Magic that will be unveiled at the film’s premiere. The shoe takes inspiration from the Star Wars world and Christian Louboutin’s signature style elements to create a unique, galaxy-ready shoe. After the premiere, the showpiece shoe will be added to the auction as well.
